It’s always an AMAZING time at BarTaco. I stand by it being the Gem of Chapel Hill. The managers are amazing; the service is amazing- the bartenders are amazing. Even when my bill is double what I PLANNED I am never left unhappy. Much love from B your Disney FanGirl
The food is of course great! I honestly come here for the amazing service. Charlie was very friendly and very welcoming. Kelly (Manager) was really sweet. She actually went around table to table to see how everything was. Very rare you see this these days. She gave us a complimentary dessert. It was so refreshing to get the customer service we were accustomed to before the pandemic. Never going back to North Hills Bar Taco again!
Their family taco packs are a joke. Paid $15 for duck and literally got a table spoon of cilantro and onions and they claim this pack feeds 2 people. What grown adult gets full with 2 mini tacos? And no other toppings? Just onions and cilantro? Don’t even get me started on the guac. $10 for less than a cup, but they claim it’s their LARGE and literally just taco shells as “chips.” The guac doesn’t even have onions, cilantro or tomatoes! Nothing special about it! As a Latina nothing angers me more than seeing white people start a business off cultures they know absolutely NOTHING ABOUT!! $40 on this is my regret for the month. Even the pieces of lime they gave us if a joke!
The outdoor dining area was great! The shrimp tacos were insanely spicy and there was no warning of that. Like so spicy I couldn't eat it after the first bite. My husband ate the rest. The fried fish taco was really good. The sweet tea was not good. It was mixed in house and was so strong/bitter, and barely sweet. The waiter was good and service was good. The guacamole and tortillas were good. Not sure that we would go back here.
Great concept of ordering and paying by phone. I like that your tab stays open and you add items throughout your visit. It's a great way to keep up with what you're spending (especially if you're a college student on a budget).Great service and staff, plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The wait time was reasonable and the food was good. The street corn was not as flavorful as I had hoped but the chicken rice bowl and taco were both great. I also had the fresh pineapple and sweet tea carafe. I ordered churros to go, they were warm, fresh and delicious.
Wow, our first Bartaco outing so we selected Tuesday ✔️? and we’re now big fans. The Signature was Lamb Kofta and it was a great pile of savory lamb seasoned beautifully. We followed with a bowl of tuna and more tacos, fried oyster and a shrimp which was our spiciest. Great cocktails, easy ordering, really great folks (Max!). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Delicious tacos, guacamole and chips, and margaritas! The spicy margarita was fantastic (but yow! The price was spicy, too!). The manager who served us was very attentive and explained the ordering and attention to allergens. Lovely airy interior with bar seats as well as booths. Lots of outdoor seating.All ordering is done by QR code.Quick tip: you needn't put in your whole order at once. Put in drinks and apps and enjoy them while you order your mains. Don't know how hungry you'll be? Order a couple tacos and more later. They come out pretty quickly, even though they are short staffed at the moment.
The short wait for a table was well worth it. Great concept, excellent dishes, and well crafted cocktails.
