Great ambiance and clean interiors. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the skrimp tacos and the hush puppies were crispy!
The Skrimp Shack in Cary is the best one in the Raleigh area. The food is good and the portions are huge! You definitely get your money's worth!
The Nashville hot chicken sandwiches are what drew us in. When the sandwiches came out, it was pretty impressive how high the sandwiches were stacked and how much chicken was included. The sauce on the chicken looked good, but did not remind me of Nashville hot chicken. Some parts of the chicken were dry, while other parts were fine. The fried okra was good, but not very crispy; the sweet potato fries were limp and cold. The spicy po boy sauce had a strange viscosity. There wasn’t Diet Dr Pepper in the soda machine. Overall, the potential for Shrimp Shack to be a great place to get fried foods is there.
Had the catfish sandwich. For the price it was amazing! I loved how when I asked, they said thet fry the seafood separate from the chicken. 10/10!
Tried this place for the first time last week and had high hopes, unfortunately it just did not deliver in terms of food quality or flavor. I ordered via the online menu and picked up at the time allocated. We ordered grilled scallops and greens. The scallops were tiny and greasy and lacked flavor. We ordered grilled salmon and French fries, but the salmon was greasy so possibly was fried, was also dry. Last meal was a lobster roll, which was incredibly tiny and had other herbs/dressing mixed in but also lacked flavor. For 90 plus dollars (including soup that was refused by my husband after the scallops), it just was not a good experience.
Wife and I just got a chance to try the Shrimp Shack and we absolutely loved it. The restaurant was very cleand an organized, the service was beyond outstanding and the food was excellent. Fried oysters, shrimp and crab poboy and fried shrimp with hush puppies and collards. All delicious and fresh. Definitely recommend if you're looking for some fresh and well prepared fried seafood.
I had the worst allergic reaction to their food. I just ordered Shrimp and green beans. After I finished eating my entire body was covered in hives. I thought maybe it was the shrimp, but my husband finished off the green beans and said his mouth started itching. The food was pretty good but eating it came with a cost. Thankfully I keep Benadryl around the house. I ordered the food through Doordash.
