We went here on a weeknight to celebrate a job promotion. We had to bring our children with us and I was surprised they had kid fidgets, coloring book, and a kids menu! Our waitress was extremely attentive and the food was excellent all around. The sweet potato side dish was Incredible BUT you must like sweet things because it's coated in brown sugar (which I love) but if you don't have a sweet tooth I could anticipate not liking it. The steak was done to my husband's liking and the grilled chicken for my salad was done superbly.
I don't give a 3 because I think it's bad, I am giving a 3 based on a "worth it" scale. So please read my review based on that.I fully believe that RC should be a place people enjoy at least once for the awesome experience of being fancy and having good food. However, for the cost of the meal, it isn't really worth it especially to families with kids.We ordered the 3-course meal option. Hubby had the gumbo, with the petit filet and shrimp, and the garlic mashed potatoes. I ordered the ceaser salad, and the spicy salmon with crispy shrimp, and the garlic mashed potatoes as well. Dessert was a mini cheesecake with a small scoop of ice cream (could have upgraded to a different dessert for +$5).The salmon was freaking amazing! I can't praise this salmon enough. The flavor wasn't spicy, it was a delicious blend of heat and sweet, thanks to the honey Thai flavor. The mashed potatoes were perfectly done, a solid bowl of yummy garlicy buttery goodness. I'm not a fan of shrimp, ever, but they were good.Hubby's gumbo was a solid gumbo, and pretty yummy. His steak was good, but there was one side much thicker than the other side, so the inside was cooked semi-uneven. He said his grilled shrimp was good. The dessert was fine. The ice cream was just some basic ice cream (not even vanilla bean) and the cheesecake was rather dry, probably overbaked. Would be nice if it had a strawberry drizzle or something. Was the food good? Yes!Was the atmosphere good? Yes!Was the service good? Mostly yes!Is the cost of RC worth it for the meal? No.You could probably cook a steak just as good if not better by buying a cut from your local butcher and broiling/searing it yourself. And I guarantee someone knows a recipe for honey-Thai sauce. But is RC worth experiencing at least once? Definitely!Note: I didn't take photos of food because it felt inappropriate to do so at a place like RC. I didn't want to treat the experience as casual. So here is a photo of the front entrance. Also, kudos to the complimentary valet service. That was awesome!
Service was okay - the waiter didn't come by often but was nice to reheat our undercooked steak. We were seated upstairs near the isle and it seemed crowded. It felt like we were eating in the hallway rather than in a dining room. The table shakes when we cut the meat and the table space was way too small for 4 people. The sweet potato side was way too sweet (dessert like). The flavor of the ribeye was okay but it had too much tendon, making it difficult to cut and chew. The USDA prime steak at Costco feels more tender than this. Overall, not worth the money. I had better experience at outback steakhouse for less than half the price.
For a fine dining experience, I am sorely disappointed. My wife's order was completely swapped with another dish. Our server (Ethan) was unable to keep our drinks filled and we had to remind him on multiple occasions for requested condiments. From us finishing our meals to us receiving the check, it took 20 minutes. Total dining experience took almost two hours when it should not have exceeded much more than an hour.On top of that, the manager did not speak to our table once, but spoke to every other table around us. He avoided our table like the plague.I hope this situation is rectified but I do not expect it to be. Will never visit again.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here and both ordered the filet. The steak was very good, as was the mashed potatoes side. The salad had too much dressing on it for my liking. You may want to order the dressing on the side if you don’t like the salad doused in dressing. The service was top notch. They treated us like royalty. Kyle was our waiter. He had the chef put a special anniversary message on our dessert and lit a candle for us. He also offered to take our photo.
Food was bomb! We went here during our weekend trip to Raleigh. We got the thick cut pork chop, stuff Chicken, roasted Brussel sprouts & the Au gratin potatoes. (Chef's Kiss ) 10 out 10 would definitely recommend.
Great food and atmosphere l!
Best steaks I’ve ever had good as the best I 100% recommend
In the past I've enjoyed Ruth Chris during dinner hours. I came in today with a small group for Easter brunch and ended up ordering dinner instead. I'm very disappointed! I ordered a cowboy cut steak mid well. After a couple cuts I could tell the steak was medium as blood was in my plate. I notified the floor manager whom proceed to have me cut down the center of the steak which further proved what I'd already told him. He took my $78 steak has the chefs reheat it and returns it well done and dry. At this point I'm upset but not going to send it back again as the rest of my party is well into their meal. If they were not able to correct the steak without over cooking it, it should have been completely redone! At least my sons enjoyed their kids meals. I ended up bagging it up to go. Not the way I planned to spend my Easter.
I had the most delicious meal, triangle area this is 100 percent the place to have a savory steak and a good atmosphere. The staff member that made the night was Sebastian, he went above and beyond and made our bigger party feel very welcome and just added some vibrancy to our absolute bliss of a meal. Thanks again for having us.
