The food was amazing just like I remember it, but the service was lackluster. It took a while to get our drinks ordered.Other than that, I enjoyed the visit. Love the ambiance in this location!
I understand that they have an employee shortage and the timing of service is not a big deal to me. My waitress today brought half of my food and I had to get another waiter to get the remainder. She did not check drinks throughout or if we were okay and only asked at the end about refills. She swept the floor most of the service, which was odd. Anything I stated she did not seem to hear then she would eventually get the item she would have a smirk on her face. This was the worst service and this is the second time ever I have not left a wait staff a tip.
We got there around 7pm . Restaurant doesn’t close until 9pm and let me tell you the restaurant was a mess. We were sat around tables with piles and piles of dirty dishes all around us, floor was full with trash. It felt super gross trying to eat your food with allThe dirty dishes piled around you for two hours and no one picking it up. Don’t know if they usually leave dirty dishes on the table all night untill closing or we came across a bad day, but it felt like kids were running the restaurant with the piles of trash piled up on each table . Im surprise it didn’t gross out the server as it grossed us out. Food was ok and service was nice , our server was really great but management need to step it up with cleanliness.
We have been here 4 times. The food is good but every time we go, the food is cold. Especially the beans and rice. Had to return our food every time. But we keep going back for the friendly staff and great drinks. Hopefully one day we will get hot food the first time?
Had them cater my rehearsal dinner for my wedding! They were super transparent, reasonably priced, very efficient and handled everything. Food was delicious! Thanks guys for adding to such a memorable night!
The service is slow the food was not good. It was doable but. The water tatsed awful ?. We were hungry and waited to long to have chips and salsa come. After they brought those we still didn't have any drink yet.Our server was sweet but the place just wasn't cutting it.
Hostess was very nice. We asked to be moved to another table when the tabletop of the one we were seated at was so wobbly it nearly fell off!Our waitress was so nice and very attentive.The food was so so on our last visit a couple years ago. This time everything was very good, except a couple of the tortillas came with the fajitas were hard so had to ask for more that came out much fresher.All in all a good experience and plenty of leftovers!
My wife & I stopped by the On The Border on 1102 Walnut St on a Saturday night. The place was short staffed forcing them to wear many hats and giving the customers a long wait time to be seated. They may have a remote check in process to avoid the wait. Even after being seated, the visits from our server were sporadic, as he was tending multiple tables.

The food was really really good could have been happier with it the service left a little bit to be desired they was not that busy and everything we wanted we had to ask for we had ask for refills on tea we had to ask for extra napkins we had to ask for sour cream to go boxes to go cups I've been a server for over 20 years and I've always been told to anticipate the customers needs that's not what happened there... But she could have just been having an off night.. I'll definitely go back
