5 napkin lunch with a crisp refreshing adult bev. I can not recommend this place enough. 50 miles for lunch is well worth it! Rueben is the best but you have to get the club. It’s way shareable. Now we have to come back for the 10 napkin hens of summer sandwich. Stay tuned!!!!
Great place especially in that's different from most other sandwich places. Unlike a lot of other places they actually know a true club sandwich (big slices, no cheese) unlike other places that do a pseudo knockoff version of a club. Huge, eclectic menu with a lot of deli favorites. Other than the egg salad everything I've had is pretty good. Maybe a true New Yorker might find a few things not quite like they remember back east but for NC this is pretty darn close. Unlike some other Triangle sandwich shops they deliver on providing a premium product at the premium price.
Here's a 'full' pastrami Rueben. The pastrami rocked but admittedly don't have that much experience with it. However, I'm totally a happy camper.
The sandwiches here are awesome! I had the Roast Beef sandwich, the full size was a little more than I had bargained for but I'm not complaining about size. I would have LOVED to sit and hang out for a beer or five but my team had work to do.Only reason for missing the five star mark: My friend ordered the Unreal Reuben made with plant based corned beef, which needed the cheese and 1000 island dressing removed to be vegan. The sandwich was tasty, however, we noticed the kitchen worker pulling the melted cheese off of the sandwich before finishing the order. Thankfully, my friend is not allergic and just checked for and removed residual cheese but someone who had been allergic could have been hurt.
My husband and I stopped by today and had the best outdoor lunch! Our server, Corrine, was great! My husband had the cabbage rolls and said it was fantastic. I had the tuna melt, and it was delicious! The owner, Ron, stopped by to check in and say hi. We love to support local businesses. We will be back soon!
I'm sorry but New York deli's would be ashamed of the corned beef sandwiches they are serving. Rubbery dry corned beef, I'm always so optimistic but again disappointed. The people were nice but the drunk's at the bar also ruined the experience. Jarred saggy pickles ,no crunch. This could be an amazing go to place with some changes but I Guess for now I'll stick to making it myself. The manager, owner was much happier just serving alcohol and chatting with the drunk's than caring about his food. I have been in the food industry for 20 plus years and I'm from NY. He did comp the whole ticket but didn't tell us because he was hiding in the back.
Very good deli style as good as it’s gonna get for NC! Rob the owner came to check in on us. We will definitely be back and tell our friends about this place. Cool atmosphere very nice friendly wait staffMy husband is going to have the brisket next time!
Good food, as close as we can get down here for NY kosher style deli. Bagels are shipped from NY so they're tasty, the Liz is delicious as is the matzo ball soup.We have been there a few times and have recommended to several other people.I hope that they don't charge anything....
always great food and awesome assistance!
Been in NC 5 years and finally found my NY pastrami sandwich at Mookies. Everyone has a slightly different idea of perfect. Millions of people, millions of opinions. Mookies is a deli...order the way you want it. I like a no frills sandwich, pastrami on sourdough (wanted rye but their rye has seeds, no big deal) with deli mustard and THAT'S IT. My style. I got what I ordered to perfection. Bread was as expected, the pastrami was decadently moist and just warm enough, not salty and the right amount for the bread. I don't expect a life changing experience, just a real good sandwich. Next time, the lox and bagel platter...can't wait. Good job. Our waiter was friendly and as other servers passed they always stopped to see if we were fine. We'll be back......
