As a lifelong resident of Allentown I've eaten at this spot many, many times. BEST chicken, ribs, stuffing and gravy...corn pie and pierogies. All my faves...However on this day I was given burnt pierogies. Pierogies were also the days special, however when I checked my receipt (already at home) found that I was charged regular price for my 3 pc order. Never had a problem before but after today I will stay away for a while. Perhaps is was the young man's fault or was it? I shouldn't have to inspect my food or verify my receipt every time, not at a business that I've been enjoying for so long.
It's a fast casual family spot. The BBQ was pretty good and the coleslaw was okay (but a bit too finely chopped and soupy for me). Would be a chill lunch spot during the workday or if you're traveling, but I would choose somewhere else for dinner.
It's in a strip mall, blink and you might miss it. But the barbecue is absolutely top-notch, from someone who has lived in Texas for five years and Carolina for 25. They do everything right: brisket, chopped pork, pulled pork, chicken, smoked wings. Restaurant is low-key, but the BBQ and the sides are fantastic, especially the collards, fried corn, and coleslaw. Staff is second to none, I've been coming here for 15 years. I was at a nearby hotel recently (power was out), and a fellow guest asked the staff for a place in walking distance to eat, and they suggested a below-average chain. I told him to come to Danny's. Saw him there, he was visiting from Atlanta. He got the brisket, said it was fantastic. Highly recommended!
A locally owned bbq that is very casual with a friendly family atmosphere. We got ribs and brisket, melt in your mouth Delicious!! Nice smoke flavor. We will certainly be back and recommend highly.
Nice bbq joint. I thought the pulled pork was a little dry but they offer good sauces to moisten it back up. The rib (bought the add-on), slaw, and green beans were great!
Delicious BBQ! Someone has the gift of the Grill at Danny's BBQ. Thank you for the fantastic flavors, always nice and friendly atmosphere, and Delicious food. We really enjoyed the Brisket, the giant Beef Ribs (so good) and smoky-sweet beans. Worth every nibble!
Excellent bbq. Ordered small meal for 4 takeout. All of the sauces were excellent. Loved the mustard one the best. Got the delicious pulled pork, hush puppies, Texas toast, southern potato salad, cole slaw and sweet tea. All outstanding! Great customer service!
Quick service the food was hot and fresh, I highly recommend the brisket and the homemade potato salad. Also you can never go wrong with their homemade banana pudding. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, can't wait to go back.
Went here with our daughter and had as always a GREAT meal. I had the beef rib and it just melted off the bone with GREAT taste. SO GOOD My wife had pulled pork as did my daughter and both raved as well. Service REALLY good. Danny was even there.
