Gotta do better - take down your $2.99 turnover special if you are going to charge $4.19…..or honor the $2.99 when it is questioned
A comfortable little restaurant with excellent customer service! The waitress was one of the most welcoming people I’ve ever met. The food was average, but we did enjoy the sides. The fries especially were hot and crisp. Overall a good experience for our family, especially our toddler (who loved the mac and cheese and the waitress very much).
They serve the best barbecue, every time. Service is friendly and top notch. It's my go-to for a great lunch.They have family meal takeout options too, if I don't feel like cooking. :)

Although the online menu was confusing( it said they have beef ribs and they don't and only have certain foods on certain days), we ended up finding plenty to eat for my allergy restricted husband, my mother who said she ate there once and didn't like it, and myself, who wishes they had brisket. We enjoyed the pork ribs, broasted chicken, potato salad and baked beans, all of which were good. The ladies room was adequately clean, and the seating area was clean and inviting. The floor near the register was sticky, and now are my shoes, but then again no one can tell what someone might have brought in on their shoes.
Always great food. During times of segregation, African Americans would usually go to the back doors of eating establishments. Not at Hursey's... Front door only service. It is great food, great people. One thing needed...hush puppies without onions (allergy).
Not worth the price for the bbq. Bbq too vinegary. Fries soggy. Cole slaw only part I likes but it taste like Mayflower Seafood cole slaw.Will not visit again. For same money at Smithfield I get more better tasting bbq with chicken and crispy fries for same price.Never again.
This was the worst food I have ever tried to eat. The chicken was not bbq it was fried over cooked chicken with bbq sauce on the table. The skin on the chicken was so tough I couldn't chew it.A big waste of money. First and last time there
