Breakfast American Salad

I took my toddler here for breakfast this morning. She woke up asking for pancakes and being pregnant, I didn't object ? I've passed this place many times but never stopped so I decided to give it a try and ya'll didn't disappoint. The pancakes were HUGE and the grits was perfect. Needless to say we will be back for some more giant pancakes!

Smaller portions than they usually have had in the past. Meat was hot but the vegetable sides were cold. The hamburger steak was supposed to be medium rare but was served raw. Had to send back to get warm sides and for the hamburger steak to be recooked.

Had the grilled salmon salad it was delicious ?

Great food, friendly staff, but kind of pricey. Who doesn't offer a salad & potato with a steak with out charging extra for the salad? Kind of pathetic to me!

So let me say first , Im born n raised Nyer and cooked for a living. I took another transfer mom friend from Cali to this place for girls brunch. When we came in it seemed empty compared to their busy weekends. We ordered drinks and by then police were at another customers table. Table had a black man with dreads and dirty plate that used to be eggs and a full plate of untouched pancake . We heard he refused to pay we jumped to pay just to get the cops out. Both men mentioned principles . Cops got black man out . Owner later comes over for I guess an explanation? I asked him if "he would of called the police on a old white woman for returning an over cooked steak?" N he mentioned it was "untouched" he walked away. I stop here bc I dont know if it connected with him of how ignorant this all was. I wanted it to be known Im never stepping foot in this place again and I came pretty often with my family there not seeing the true colors of their owner until now. Can someone recommend a Black owned breakfast/lunch place local to Burlington?

Nice Homestyle restaurant. Great service and excellent food.

Breakfast was not good, eggs tasted and smelled pretty bad ! My husband and I had to go eat somewhere else to be satisfied.

Great family atmosphere. If you're looking for country cooking, this is the place. Fried fish is good, great salad bar. Friendly service. Steaks, vegetables, hush puppies all so good. Don't miss out on this family owned gem!
