We found this spot on a whim last night when we were walking downtown. The host greeted us right away and was very friendly. She told us it would be about a 5 minute wait as their was a party coming in. I don’t think we even waited the full 5 minutes before she got us to a table. I will say the best part of the meal was the spinach and artichoke dip! Honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The rest of our food (Gouda burger and pizza) were also tasty and arrived in good timing. The only complaint I would have is that service staff is very slow. Our server took forever to get over to us and was hard to track down when you needed them. The mixed drinks were also not proportional. I ordered a mojito and their was no mint muddled into it and it just tasted like straight lime juice. Overall I definitely recommend this place! Order the beer flight and spinach and artichoke dip and you can’t go wrong
Went to have dinner and friends. They placed us in a private dining area and we had a great time. The service was great and so was the food.
We had a wonderful lunch here a while back and tried a few things. The Club sandwich was yummy and the Mac and cheese was devoured quick by my kids.
They have moved their entry door, which means you have to go up 2 steps to get to the dining room. The steps are not obvious, and coming in from the sunny outside, I could not see them - and fell up them. It was a hard fall... The young man seating us helped me up (I am a large, senior citizen type...). You need to mark them more clearly (fluorescent tape?) Orthe host should at least say "Watch these steps..." The manager probably should have checked with me to.make sure I was alright. I think I am just bruised, but if someone falls in your establishment, it's a good idea to double check with them.Service was terribly slow - especially from the bar (our cocktails came at the same time as our meal). Then, also, our appetizer arrived with the meal. The poor young man waiting on us was very pleasant, but clearly overstretched. (I get it - everyone is understaffed!) He was apologetic, which is the reason for 2 stars, not 1.Food was good - as were the cocktails - another reason for 2 stars, not 1.Not in a hurry to return.
Great atmosphere with plenty of beer options. They have classic southern entrees as well as a few vegan/vegetarian options. I'll definitely be going back.
Stopped in for the first time and was really impressed with the service, food, and layout of Ransom. The bartender was very laid back and made solid drinks. Ordered the wings with dry rub (extra crispy of course) and they were on point-some of the best I've had lately. Then had the pork belly tacos, which were tasty but the tortillas needed to be crisped a bit and the slaw needed a bit more mayo. Overall, this is a nice spot and I will be back.
Landed here by accidentAnd it was 25 and under..Bumble party..What's even more weird. We met on Bumble and now are in love.I'm not crying??
Ransom was awesome! Food was spectacular and the staff was as friendly as can be. Definitely recommend anyone to swing by for a bite/drink while going out on the town.
This place was highly recommend by our air b&b host so we stopped by yesterday hoping to have drinks and watch the UNC vs Duke game. The bar was mostly empty so we sat there. Our first bartender Sandy was good. She was busy but got us drinks and checked in with us regularly for refills. When she was leaving she asked us if we would mind closing out with her and we could start a new tab with the bartender coming on. No problem at all! We intended to stay, eat and drink so we were happy to close with her and open a new tab. However the new bartender NEVER EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED OUR EXISTENCE. Other patrons who saw us try and get her attention tried to let her know we needed drinks but she completely ignored their words about us and took their order and continued to ignore us. We were definitely not being rude or loud so we were perplexed why we were getting this treatment. She walked by us to change the Pernicious keg and we thanked her because that is my hubs favorite beer. Still didn’t help us establish with her that we were planning to stay and spend money. We finally gave up and left. The food looked delicious and we would have loved to try it but we couldn’t get any service at the mostly empty bar. Black Cat Burritos is really good though and I highly recommend it!
The atmosphere is great! However, the fish and chips were just average and I could have used a little more fish for the price. We got seated right away on a Saturday night tho— very friendly staff and great beer selection!
