At first, I thought the prices was a little high, but once I got my food it was well worth it. The waitress was very friendly and nice. I would recommend this place to my friends and family and I will be back
Got there early for our reservation, they accommodated our group of 6 right away with a smile. Staff was so kind and attentive, food was perfect, just a real nice place to eat REALLY great food. Thanks Proper!
The fried chicken is the crunchiest and moistest I've ever eaten... So so good! I ate on the patio, very cute.

A wonderful little spot here in Boone. Food was delightful and service exemplary. We had the Chicken and dumplings, Tomato Pie, and some fried Green Tomatoes. We will be back.
Proper offers delicious upscale southern food. Don’t miss the hot dipped chicken with all their classic sides. For something lighter, try the sides plate with a green salad and one of Proper’s house made dressings. This is one of the tastiest places we’ve found downtown Boone.
We had the best meals here and friendly customer service. This was probably our favorite meal during our trip to Boone. We highly recommend trying this place! The ambience is perfect and I love the old feel of the restaurant.

Because of the reviews, I’ve now attempted this restaurant 3 different times and was extremely disappointed each time. I’ve eaten a lot of southern food in my day, but never as bad as this. Even if it cost half as much, it would still be overpriced for the taste and the quality. I leave feeling completely underwhelmed and ripped off. I’d suggest saving your money, as there are much better restaurants with friendlier service in the area.
