The location was hard to find if one is not familiar with Asheville. There should be a sign visible from Rte 70. Food was good but several menu items and wine selections were not available. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and offered good, responsive service. The food was also very good.
The best steak I had in a very long time! I will compare it to Ruth Chris steakhouse! I definitely will be back
Like many restaurants these days, Woodfire Grille seems to be experiencing a staffing shortage. However, if you bring a little patience and understanding, you'll be rewarded with friendly service and delicious food. My wife had the burger, which was perfectly prepared and served just the way she requested. The bun was fresh and was the perfect size for the larger patty. For her side she chose the grilled brussels sprouts that came with a nice sauce drizzled on them. I had the grilled wings and they were very good. Nicely grilled with good flavor. I ordered them with the traditional buffalo sauce, which was good, but I could have done with a little more spice heat. The wings were large and meaty. I have no problems recommending this place - just be patient and understanding. :)
Stayed in Asheville tonight and rather than going out I took a chance to eat in the hotel dining room. Not very busy and was seated right away. I had looked over the menu when I arrived and pretty much made my selections, with the exception of the soup of the day. My server, Dani, was very pleasant as she took my order. I started with the soup which was corn chowder. It was loaded with corn, potatoes and bacon. Had a little kick to it which was unexpectedly good. For dinner I had the mountain trout with grilled asparagus and roasted brussell spouts. All was presented well and was delicious. If you stay in this Holiday Inn or nearby, I recommend the Woodfire Bar and Grille
I didn’t realize it was in a hotel. But rustic, great food and service. Everything was fresh and a great house salad!
The restaurant and bar were short staffed. My ribs were like they were cooked hours ago and warmed up just for me.The waitress never followed up with us. Finally, she discounted our bill 20%. We never went back just to avoid the same experience. My wife ordered a steak and to give them props when deserved, her steak she said was delicious.
great food. helpful hardworking staff. They were very shorthanded the night we came here but great food and great staff.
Based on previous good reviews, I was anticipating a wonderful experience! The atmosphere is great even though the restaurant is in a hotel. Very quiet and easy to carry on a conversation. The food was good but nothing spectacular! Our server was not very attentive- in fact my Husband had to chase her down in the dining room on her way back to the kitchen for a refill- even though she had clearly saw we needed refills when she brought our food and acknowledged she would bring us some. We waited at least 10 or 15 minutes- she actually left the restaurant came back and never looked our way. It was not a busy time either. The other server was the opposite and was ver attentive to her tables. If we had gotten her as our server it would have been a much nicer experience! With so many other options available- I will probably not be returning to this restaurant.
The rolls are to die for, mine came first out of the oven so they were nice and warm. The butter is out of this world savory and sweet at the same time! The French onion soup is amazing as well.
The food was very good and the hotel was 5 stars to us. Very clean and looks like the pictures you see online before booking.
