Delicious! Got the fresh peach flavor and it was awesome! Nice little place to sit on the porch and enjoy two scoops on a hot summer day! Definitely recommend!
Went to whit’s dozens of times in the past couple years. Since Covid you have to get up on a “shakey” platform which I cannot do related to very bad knees. I told the young man in the window I couldn’t get up on the platform he gave me a strange look and said “you can’t “, I told him no I then told him I wanted a pint of ice cream from their freezer and he said they didn’t have that. I had been told by one of the ladies that work there that they would be glad to come out to take my order and my card and bring out my order and my card. This young guy just sat there looking at me. Customer Service is nonexistent to him I just walked away. I called there a few minutes later asked to talk to the manager and low and behold it was the guy in the window. I told him who I was and let him know that I would not return there it is not handicapped accessible. I went up to “The Hop” a block away they have handicapped parking and are very friendly. Very disappointed.
While we were in Mayberry, we had to go to Whit's the last evening for dessert. It's one of the very few stores that stays open past 5pm...we are so glad it did. Their frozen custard by itself is great...but then there is what seems like endless topping. What a way to cap a day. I'm hoping this review helps establish a Trip Advisor for the Mt. Airy store. I'm sure the Asheville store is good, too....but I was not in Asheville. AGain, this review is for the Mt. Airy location. MMMMMMMMMMMMM good!
Absurdly delicious. We got the vanilla shake and the Mountain Delight (vanilla custard, hot fudge, brownie bites, and nuts). We will most definitely be back!
It was so delicious,we had banana splits they were so good. It was worth the drive. Thank you so much. The best one yet.
We will easily drive from Barnardsville/Weaverville area to get a quick treat or take home of this frozen custard! Love the mocha chip and looking for it to come back soon. Anything is good here of course :-)
It was a walk-up window with a long list of flavors but many of them were only available in quart sizes, not individual cones or cups. Each flavor I wanted was unavailable so I left empty handed. The other three people I was with had better luck and they enjoyed theirs.
The custard is really good. The sandwiches in many flavors are more than you can eat in one sitting.
Omg! The custard was so fresh and delicious. The line was long but it was worth it. Parking is limited & difficult to get in and out of.
Sadly they limit the flavors for single orders. Their sign was not easily understood. And only their window was open. If they are closing the inside they should at least lock the door or put up a sign. The vanilla frozen custard was good but they need some work on people skills.
