Had a very good sausage dog. I'm a plain mustard and onion guy and the dog was very good. Bun was a little hard on the bottom but I came for the sausage and was very satisfied. Wife ha nachos from the taco bar. More than she could eat.I used to work for the owner of Highland Brewery when he brewed nuclear waste and am very glad to see that he and his daughter have done well with their beers. I've been a fan of the Oatmeal Porter since before I knew Oscar was involved with it. Watching and waiting on the live music.
This is a fun place to take guests when they are in town, especially since there are several restaurants to choose from in one place and a nice atmosphere. It's kind of loud, so it is harder to sit and really visit.
S&W Market is the coolest collection of quick service dining stands all centered around Highland brewery located in the heart of downtown Asheville. There multiple levels featuring a variety of seating areas seems designed for gathering friends and family, or even a great place to sit and work if you are into that kind of thing.
Awesome selection of food restaurants on the 1st floor consisting of hotdogs, crafted tacos, Thai, fried chicken sandwiches and an ice cream shop. The second consisted of additional seating and Highland Brewing bar. Live music was playing. Great find when we were mostly trying to escape winter winds!
Very good upscale food court with a good number of different food provider choices as well as local craft brews. Our group of 4 people got food ranging from Thai to Hickory Nut Gap hot dogs. All of it was very good. The market is a great place to stop for a quick snack or to relax and fill up. The beautiful historic building adds to the atmosphere.
The S&W is a very special place. It was art deco before art deco was invented. I’m told that the original Jewish owners did their best to work around segregation laws back in the day. Closed for many years its a real treat to see it open to the public and serving its purpose as a delightful lunch joint. The open seating and variety of options in the food hall make it a good choice for a large group.
This place is so neat and cool inside! It was really busy when we went on a Saturday and had a hard time finding somewhere to sit but the food and the ambience was well worth it. Ate at Bun Intended and it was pretty yummy. I had the sauteed veggie bao which had a really tasty sauce, I had a bite of the pork belly bun and that was good too. I also highly recommend getting the thai iced coffee, it was delicious.
All stalls are serving up some awesome goodies, especially The Hop ice cream! Perfect place to grab a brew and have lots of super solid food options for all.
What a hidden gem! Good food (I had a farm dog- amazing!) Good beer (Highlands had been doing this a long while and are VERY good at it!) And a nice seat in a VERY cool old building. I'll be back if I come back to Asheville.
Came in for a drink after a comedy show. It was later so there were not many guests but the person we dealt with was nice. As a business owner I always judge other places of business, and that being said, this will likely not last. This location hasn't housed a successful business as long as I have lived in Asheville (25 years)
