Had a scrumptious meal yesterday. Started with the fresh baked rye knots, full of whole grain and caraway goodness. Next time we'll order the sausage with it for the full experience, but the coarse grain mustard and Gouda cheese dip were already the perfect compliment. Hubby had the steak kabob, served with an ear of corn over a bed of perfectly seasoned rice and veg while I chose the small plate of pork belly with brussel sprouts. My pork belly was surprisingly lean yet retained enough moisture to make each bite succulent and the nibble of hubby's steak made me want to try a whole serving another time. Hubby had a flight of the house made liquors, all lovely and I tried the NA Moscow mule, also tasty. We finished with the bourbon creme brulee, a bit too sweet for my taste, but creamy and satisfying all the same. We'll be back.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. Everything else was mediocre to pretty good. It really doesn't make sense that one place could brew good beer; distill good whisky, rum and gin; and make great food. They even claim to dry age their own beef. The menu looks great and some of it is actually not bad. The liquor they distill really isn't that good. The drinks were stiff and with the mixers ok. (My guess is the stiff drinks and friendly service account for the good reviews). If they would just focus on fewer things they might be worth a return trip.Owner wants to argue with me. Lose a star.

Rye Knot was out of this world! We had the mussels, Brussels sprouts with pork belly, and smoked meatloaf. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had. Started off with some locally crafted beer. And by local, I mean 5 feet behind the bar. Since the menu was full of amazing items, we went with Brussel sprouts and pork belly. So delicious and perfectly cooked. Next up was a plate of mussels. Ask for extra bread as you will need that for the juices left over. Mussels had a great taste and the sauce was amazing. Decided to go with the meatloaf as it was listed as a local favorite. It was absolutely amazing and every bite was perfect. Mashed potato’s, gravy, sauté summer squash and zucchini and a dash of onion strings. All in all a hidden gem in Asheville and well worth the trip out.

Great hidden neighborhood gem. Fantastic food, service, drinks (their own distillery!) service and ambiance. The co-owner Ed was so friendly and welcoming to our party. We will be frequent guests! Thank you.

What a great find! Food was exceptionally good - delicious soups and sandwiches. Cocktails were superb and staff was friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed the cider, but food was mediocre and overpriced. Companions ordered fish and chips, with large portions but overcooked fries. I ordered fried green tomatoes, a "small plate," that cost about $16. For that price, I hoped for more than three slices that came with more greasy breading than tomatoes, a little feta and 3 cooked shrimp. All told with cider, this appetizer and tip, bill came to $30, hardly worth the money.

Look out Kentucky!! An Asheville entrepreneur and restaurateur is distilling classic types of hard liquor on site. We got lucky and were able to receive the $0.50 tour. Housemade light and dark Rum, Bourbon, Gin, Vodka are produced. They are featured in cocktails. The “Pain Killer” was totally accurate, complete with grated nutmeg on top. The Soggy Dollar in BVI would find it darn close to identical. The “Peach Sour” was well balanced and VERY tasty. My husband had a bourbon on the rocks, a tough taste test, and said it compared favorably to his brand of choice, Woodford Reserve. The most notable difference was the price for a bottle, about 1/4 as expensive. Plus it’s local and the distiller is on the premises. Food was very good, far better than “bar food.” The pork chop was great, and the fish and chips, and smoked meatloaf were equally nicely done. They also have a good selection of cured meats. Definitely trying on our next visit in the near future! Even the art on the walls was done by local artists! I would encourage locals to support AND ENJOY a totally local enterprise. Plenty of free off -street parking is an additional pleasure! And maybe best of all- they TAKE RESERVATIONS!!! Once the warmer weather sets in, the dog friendly patio will be a super place to hang, grab a drink and eat good well-prepared food.

We've enjoyed our dinners at Rye Knot. The space in North Asheville under the former Steinmart, once occupied by the late, lamented and probably forgotten Ike's, with its amazing and unique Turkish "Pida," has been beautifully redone as a neighborhood restaurant, brewery and distillery. Both my martinis (vodka and gin, distilled by Rye Knot) were excellent. Large, ice cold and perfect. I prefer a double patty cheeseburger, but the 8 oz. single patty one here ($16 with fries) is excellent, and the tallow fries are among the best in Asheville. The fish and chips is another good dish, a huge serving marred only by a bit too much breading. We appreciate being able to sit outside, although the views of the back of the Fresh Market shopping center aren't anything to write home about. Service is friendly and efficient.

Restaurant week find ....what a great meal and delicious cocktails. We love trying new places during restaurant week..this one will go into the favorite category..the salmon was perfect, the pork chop moist and tender..we cleaned our plates..even the creme brulee was perfect.
