This is a must stop for us every time we are in the Asheville area. Hands-down the best chicken out there. My kids were asking to go back the next day. We found lunchtime lines to be much more tolerable than dinner lines. We’ll definitely be back!
Great stop. Casual atmosphere. I had the chicken pot pie and my friend had the rotisserie chicken. The chicken pot pie had great flavor with nice slices of carrots and chunks of chicken. I tasted my friend’s rotisserie chicken, and it was so tender that it was like butter, flavorful and comforting. Mashed potatoes were decent. Biscuit was flavorful with a nice crunchy exterior and soft inside. We also got the hot chicken dip and that was yummy too and a great start for the meal. The sweet tea was perfect. Just enough sweetness and actually had tea flavor instead of just being sugar water. What a great stop!
Passing through and decided to stop here.. man was we glad we did! Great staff and total awesome food! I got the Hot and son got mild. Hot was real spicy but was great on flavor. Son loved the mild which was still hot. Daughter and wife got plain loved it. Cheer-wine BBQ sauce was lit! Banana pudding was ?. Mac n cheese was great, potato salad was good (I like mine with sweet pickles.. but this was good). All sides we had tasted great! Great atmosphere and hard working staff. If we come back this way we will definitely stop back in! Great job!!!!
Decided to try this after having it saved for my visit to Asheville…. Got 3 whole wings meal with Mashed Potatoes and Fried Okra. My BF got the 2 drumsticks meal Medium w/ Sweet Potatoes and Collard Greens. Both of our sides were really good. He enjoys spicy food so he decided to try the medium after a staff member’s recommendation. He absolutely loved it through the tears from the heat..?? Will definitely recommend this place to eat. Clean establishment and good food. (-1 star for the plain wings they needed a bit more seasoning)
Delicious dishes ranging from wings to tenders, Mac n cheese, slaw, green beans and their famous hot chicken dip. Loved it all!
Very good chicken! Think I may have given them a little too much freedom in the heat department. My mouth was numb for a while. The sides were excellent as well.
Y’all this chicken is awesome. So glad to learn they have gluten sensitive options. We had their rotisserie chicken. Their wings aren’t breaded so that is also a possibility.Slushies are amazing. There is a cheer wine and a tropical one. And, speaking of cheer wine, you should try their cheer wine barbecue sauce. Holy moly this stuff is the bomb. Homemade ranch dressing that I want to bathe inCollard greens, green beans, sweet potato casserole (although not gf) make me miss my mema in the south.So good — try it out. They have the smoothest takeout system that I’ve ever seen. Also, lots of outdoor seating‘s with picnic tables that are covered, and some out in the sun.Super fun place. Giving asheville the bird. Lol
Great service and some of the best chicken you'll ever eat. Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack has a wide range of options to customize nearly everything on their menu and a terrific selection of delicious food. Never disappointed when I eat here and I live an hour away. Would love to see Johnson City, TN get a Rocky's!
Happy I didn't leave the area during my short visit to Asheville without dining there. Every item we ordered was so good. We ordered the honey mild spice fried chicken. Amazing! Spice just right! Portions were generous. I just can't rave enough about this place. Will be my first stop when I return to the area!
