Piazza is usually pretty consistentThe house salad was goodThe calamari was nice and crispy but way over salted. Our pie seemed almost dried out with little flavor. I'll try Piazza again because as I said they are usually a sure bet for a good meal
Service: was phenomenal. Can’t exaggerate how accommodating the host and server were.Caesar salad: a hunk of oily romaine. I don’t know if it actually tasted like Caesar salad.Chicken Parmigiana: it tasted like clams. I’m not sure what the source of this was. At first I thought it was just me but then I isolated the pasta from the chicken and realized it was the pasta that was the source of the fishy taste. Concerning if anyone has a shellfish allergy.Pizza (Hawaiian 5.0) : big, soggy mess. It was essentially a plot of dough melted with mozzarella and raw red onion piled with pineapple (which usually we like but not to this extent). Needed to have stayed in the oven for much longer.Beside the meal, the actual dishes were of concern. Straight away, our water glasses still had the stain of a previous patron (one whom clearly had red lipstick on). Once our plates came for sharing the Caesar salad, we noticed stains of leftover marina from someone’s previous meal and I just couldn’t bring myself to touch it.
Piazza is my favorite pizza place outside of New York. Both the pizza and rest of the menu is delicious. I love their risotto and my wife loves the pesto primavera. The staff is always professional and polite. Highly recommend
In 43 years I’ve worked in dozens of restaurants, owned several, eaten in hundreds. Piazza is clearly owned by a seasoned restaurant professional. Ambiance, service, food, all top notch. We five enjoyed pizza, sandwiches, salads, cannoli. Not hip, not trendy, just excellent.
Ordered the Italian Salad, Cheesy BreadSticks, and the Italian Job pizza. Great meat for 2 people. The breadsticks and pizza had wonderful flavor. Service was great, Michael stopped by several times to ensure our comfort level. Give this place a try, well worth the very short drive.
The food here was great and the staff were helpful, courteous and nice. It was a little on the pricey side of things. I got a pizza and it was cool to be able to watch them make it and cook it in the wood fired oven.
My family and I had a very different take than Butch Greene on what was going on that same night and time at Piazza. Yes we waited a while for our food but it was our server who explained they were short staffed due to staff taking off for the holiday -- last minute -- and (my thinking) perhaps someone might not have been healthy enough to work in food service just then - like I said, my guess. At any rate, our server (two of them actually), explained that Roberto who hosts had to jump in and make pizzas, the owner, Justin, was also working the oven, and I can only imagine the kitchen was incredibly backed up. I saw camaraderie and everyone pitching in to make it work... to not disappoint their customers (both in restaurant and those who ordered in). The simplest thing to have done was to abruptly close the restaurant but instead, everyone pitched in and made it work. We always tend to overtip during these trying times, as do most of our friends who've mentioned it. It must be incredibly stressful for them all to work under the required conditions. I've worked in many restaurants over my life, and even managed a few in NYC, and it requires nothing less than a good attitude and flexibility... roll with the punches. Our dinner was excellent as usual, yes a bit later than usual, but we all had a good time despite the fact that it was a crazy night at Piazza. We were just grateful that they were open and were keeping a safe environment for us to have a local place to go out to eat. I'm sorry they ran out of basil Butch Greene, hardly a huge issue in these times I don't believe. Not worth writing such a biased review that makes accusations that you can't possible know to be true.
Piazza has exquisite food with a homey atmosphere. My sister Emily and I had huge, comforting bowls of pasta (pesto linguini and fettucine alfredo). Nothing could have hit the spot better. We also had a delectable bowl of Caesar salad. But nothing can compare to the divine slice of chocolate cake and the toothsome chocolate cookie we enjoyed for dessert. Our server, Cathy, was so lovely and personable and made our experience so special. She was such a friendly conversationalist, and we loved her thoughts on Asheville, as we are visitors to the area. We will definitely be returning.
We arrived on Saturday before they opened and were encouraged to take a seat on the patio. We remained there for our meal. Servers were friendly and efficient, and we appreciated them wearing masks. Pizza was delicious.
Got food 2go, cheesy breadsticks were great, Cesar salad was great except the big pieces of lettuce could've been cut smaller. Chocolate Peanut Butter pie & Tiramisu was absolutely DELICIOUS
