Absolutely amazing food and service!
I just happened to be in the area and tried this place out. First thing I noticed is that they have ample parking which is good because there were plenty of customers which is a good sign. Upon entering I was promptly greeted and sat. They have a pretty broad menu so I settled on combination 13 Macho Mexicano because it had a good sampling of different items. I've provided a picture so you can see what it looks like. They also have a fresh salsa bar with double the options that I've seen at other places with Salsa bars. Since they have a salsa bar they provide a bean dip with your tortilla chips. Everything I ate here was delicious and seemed to be of higher quality than your typical Mexican restaurant. Love that they have my favorite pumpkin salsa which is a slight orange color both creamy and spicy. I also liked their tomatillo verde salsa which wasn't watery like some I've had. My entree came with a little sweet corn cake which I saved for last. My server Monzerrat, according to my receipt, provided great service despite how busy she was. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant now which is bad for me because I live 2 hours away. I'll definitely stop by here again in a couple weeks when I'm back in the area.
Great food— Service not great, under staffed. Host/waiter didn’t welcome us , waited over 30 minutes just to get our checks.
Went here on Sunday night 5/15/22, for dinner with the wife. We shared Papa’s fajitas which is a typical Texas fajitas with shrimp, steak & chicken. The server told us to just order the single because it is a lot of food. She was correct. Insane portions. Fantastic all around. Best fajita steak I’ve ever had, tasty and steak, NOT beef….. Steak lovers know what I mean!! They serve chips with a bean dip which was different and good. They also have a salsa bar with about 8 different choices you get yourself. Service was perfect. We ate inside, but they have a nice outdoor patio as well. We will be back!!!
Papa's and Beer never disappoints. The salsa on the salsa bar is SO GOOD I could practically drink it! All the food is great and the Cadillac margarita rocks too! It is a go to place for me every time I am back in Asheville since I moved.
Staff, food, portions, & atmosphere were great! The only issue 4 me was my couple of drinks I ordered, they wer just like the way she probably taught 2 make them, but i asked 4 just splash of soda, no more alcohol just a lot less soda. So my drinks were weak 4 my liking. Other than that it would b 4.5 or 5. I loved it and recommend this place. I will b back. Keep up the great work.
Gorgeous weather for outdoor seating, excellent service, and the best burrito ever! Early dinner after a rushed day, and stumbled onto Papa’s and Beer across the street from our hotel. The waiter was prompt, the Modelo was very cold in a frosted mug, and the asada burrito was to die for. Their sauce is like a cheesy enchilada sauce, and seasoned perfectly. We split it, and had a bite or two left over. I’d go out of my way to eat there if the opportunity ever presents itself!
So, so good!!! We tumbled on this place after arriving to town from an afternoon of travel. Such great flavor!! They serve chips and amazing bean dip (instead of salsa) while you wait. Portions are humongous!!!
