Wasn’t going to write this review but the service and all around atmosphere was very unwelcoming. We walk in, and we did not receive a greeting. When ordering, the barista was rude to me and rude to my friend who had asked to use the bathroom. I thought it was maybe in my head. But when the next customers walked in, she turned her frowned upside down and was very friendly and bubbly. Then, while I was waiting for my coffee, I was the only customer at the time, there was no mention that my order was ready. Instead it was just placed on the counter. It wasn’t until I randomly looked back, that I saw my coffee was ready. Was visiting Asheville for the first time, and this being the first coffee shop I stop at and it was unpleasant. Would not recommend.
I love that this place sources really high quality milk from local farmers, it really makes the latte's and everything else next-level amazing. The ambiance is cute, lots of open space and light. Favorite study place.
There is a sign on the door which CLEARLY states ‘masks encouraged’ not ‘masks required.’ Since the mandate for buncombe county has been dropped I was happy to make my choice not to wear one yet when walking in I was immediately told it was the cafes policy to still wear a mask. I put one on for a couple second interaction to immediately sit down and removed it because this is apparently fine. Why would a business choose to further enforce masks on customers when it’s no longer required in the first place? Not surprising coming from west Asheville however. At least make your sign accurate because if I had seen masks were still required I would have saved myself the time and just chose to go somewhere else.
Fun, Queer-friendly coffeeshop. We had cake (they have three rotating varieties), a cortado, and something called Golden Chai. Delicious! I visit my aunt in Asheville three times a year, and will now make it a point to stop here with friends. Free book co-op in the back! Barista Cali was helpful. Be sure to get a frequent-drinker card.
Great coffee hangout spot. There is some outdoor seating and when the weather is nice they open the large garage doors in front and back to get some good ventilation.
I was not a fan of this pseudo boujee location. The staff was rude towards my party. They essentially took their time setting up while they were late to opening up due to the weather advisory ( which would’ve been fine if we hadn’t heard their snark comments about there being people who were waiting inside their doorway instead of out in the cold). They also made a snark comment about us not having mask on ( I may note that we didn’t fight it or give off an anti-mask vibe, we just didn’t know the establishments rules. But the way they asked was super rude and it felt like the worker felt powerful demanding us instead of just asking kindly) The food and drinks were also overpriced. Honestly would’ve let most of the negative aspects of this place go if it weren’t for the rude pretentious workers. With all of this said the iced coffee drinks and bagel were not terrible just a bit expensive with awful service
The barista was wonderful and patient with me while I stared slack jawed at the chalkboard menu on a rainy Tuesday morning.I ordered the Aztec mocha and the pecan cinnamon scone. The chocolate was thick and heavily spiced and perfect for a rainy morning. The scone was fabulously sweetened without being cloying and had a wonderfully crisp caramelized cinnamon sugar coating. The front table sits in front of a big open garage-door style window and excellent for people watching, especially in the rain.Internet speed is not great (see pic), but it's fine for doing quiet work.
Tasty coffee. Loved the homemade flavor aspect. Great latte. Had some good looking baked goods but didn’t give them a try. Cool atmosphere.
One of the few coffee shops open late, amazing experience. Very friendly and helpful barista and delicious coffee! Great environment inside and convenient location. Highly recommend the aztec mocha!
Great little coffee shop, try the zesty chai there if you like chai. The pumkin chocolate chip muffin was amazing!
