Old school restaurant with no frills. Fried chicken is tasty, if a bit under seasoned. The country ham (always a very salty item) could use a bit more soaking in water to get more of the salt out.Portions are generous. Side are very tasty, particularly the collard greens and mashed potato’s. The white gravy is excellent. All dishes are served with both cornbread and biscuits, which is a nice addition.

Went here for breakfast on a weekday and had no issue getting a seat. The apple butter and biscuit was good and tasty. The food was not bad, but certainly not a wow compared to some other locations. The service was friendly and excellent.

Being a group of six we sampled quite a variety of foods. The fries and burger were good. Buttermilk biscuits were very good. We’d been to the Applewood Farmhouse but in Sevierville so the apple butter here was a terrible disappointment. It’s CINNAMON applesauce with extra cinnamon. The meatloaf was fine but the chicken dumplings and cheese grits had no seasoning. No salt at all. The kids would not eat the Mac n v cheese evacuee it was grainy from poorly melted cheese. Potatoes also needed salt. Cherry on top, the bill was substantially higher than the advertised price but we were not advised in advance. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Great home cooking. True Southern fare cooked in traditional ways. Best boiled cabbage I’ve had since childhood. Recently they have chicken gizzards, which are excellent. The chicken livers are one of my favorites & are only slightly breaded & fried.

We loved every bit of this place. Had the first meal of our trip and the last meal there. We had the Ashville Hamburger and chicken gizzards with veggies....but it should be said the chicken gizzard are outstandingly delicious. Our second meal was breakfast. We loved all of it, right down to the biscuits and apple butter

I almost walked out of this restaurant. I walk in you hear loud booming music from kitchen. The menus had food and grease all over it smeared. I told the waitress she went “cleaned them” they still weren’t that clean. The plates with biscuits on them had smeared food on the plates under the top one. I showed the waitress she takes it from me with a disgusted look I felt like I was a bother but food on that’s just nasty. Floor was filthy (this was at 11:30 am). Food was bland with no flavor. I could not finish my meal, just gross in general will NEVER return. All I could think about is how bad the kitchen probably looked. Just a nasty place in general.

This little gem is our go to place when we visit Asheville. The food is always hot & delicious. The portions are great and fresh. We've never had any issues with the food or service. Oh and great sweet tea by the way. There is also a farmers market right next door. So you can eat here and then go walk off the meal at the market.I normally get the meatloaf and my wife gets the ham plate. We highly recommend these items, you won't be disappointed.

This was the first time I've been at the Moose Cafe! Nice staff and service was fast! Waitress was as sweet! The meal had a lot of food, hot, fresh, and tasted homemade! I could not eat the amount of food that came with the meal! Great health department rating, clean rest room, plus parking lot! Plan to return if I'm in the area again!

This place was delicious. I got seated very fast even though they were busy great selection on the menu. Serve my food fresh and hot. It was delicious. Great service I will be back

The service was great, and our waitress Sarah was friendly and efficient. We had the meatloaf, chicken & dumplings and the fried chicken livers. Everything was delicious and served quick. The portions were also HUGE! Great dinner for our first night in town.
