Stopped here for lunch while stopping to recharge our vehicle. The food was just okay nothing to write home about. Meats/ribs were barely warm and brisket sandwiches were served on toast instead of a bun. Thought this was very strange. Lemonade had a chemical after taste. Like drinking lemon flavored pine sol. Fried okra was the best of all things we ordered. Hush puppies were good too. For the price…Best bet is to find somewhere else to have lunch.

Traveling from Chicago we definitely wanted some Carolina BBQ and we're thrilled with Luella's. Great brisket and chicken, plus the sides were clearly not an afterthought. Calico beans were a real surprise, very unique and perfect. Definitely recommend and will make it a must have next time we're in town. Ana was a great guide.

Found this place by accident, was amazing had the pulled chicken sandwiches bun soft crusty chicken cooked to perfection just enough sauce.Really great macaroni and cheese nice creamy, baked beans were also good it was more of a bean medley than just plain baked beans. Also the portion sizes were really good not too much and not too little we also had the sweet potato chips with their own little unique sauce. We would highly recommend this place it’s also had a really reasonable price point.

Fantastic food and amazing staff. Especially Nathan he was the bomb.com

Take out for birthday. The Bad: The online menu has brisket and meats by the pound, but the overhead menu in the restaurant does not. They have a family BBQ Pack option that is either chicken or pork, and it comes with three sides. I wanted brisket, and asked if I could get the family meal for 47.45 with brisket. The guy said he thought he could do that, but after a second or two, said he didn’t think he could. So, we got the manager over, and I asked what we had to do to get brisket with the family BBQ Pack. He said there would be a 15.00 upcharge, because it was “two pounds” of meat. What he failed to mention, was that they sell brisket by the pound. So after he told me about the upcharge, which would have put me at 62.45, I told him I would just take two pounds of chopped brisket at 23.45 per pound. Then I ordered one pint of beans to go with it. Why meats by the pound are not listed on the overhead menu when you walk in, and after the experience I had asking for brisket, I believe they want to get you to buy the Family BBQ pack, and also upcharge you if you want brisket. The Good: Beans were not too sweet, nor were they bursting with flavor, but mildly seasoned. Usually beans are overly sweet at bbq houses. The “chopped” brisket, should be labeled shredded, as that is really how it comes. I was surprised when getting home to find what I thought would be chopped squares, look like shredded sandwich meat. That being said, the flavor was phenomenal. One of my favorite brisket flavors I’ve ever experienced I do believe. They had already applied a sauce, it was oil based, and not sweet. Will be returning for brisket by the pound in the future.

Had a Mother's Day meal here, and it was fantastic!!! The entire staff was so incredibly friendly, and they even gave me a complimentary dessert for Mother's Day.

Great BBQ! Best mac and cheese!! Friendly people!

Gluten-free friendly vegetarian friendly. Welcoming staff, very pleasant. Very helpful.I had the Texas stuffed baked potato and it was delicious. They have nice choices for sauce, I really enjoyed the Pisgah BBQ sauce. I would eat here again!

Had the wings with Hot mama sauce, fries and sweet potato chips. Some of the best smoked wings we have had. I even like the sweet potato chips and typically am not a sweet potato fan. Ranch dressing was great also. Only wish I would have gotten a jar to drink.

We are here from NH for 2n only, and came for a late lunch today, based on TA’s, and our hotel clerk’s, recommendations. Being unfamiliar with southern bbq, we had lots pf questions, and all the staff we interacted with were so very friendly, patient and helpful! From Cindy, who helped us order food, to the bartender(whose name we didn’t get), who helped Kevin with his ale choice, to Katherine, who checked up on us during our meal, we had a wonderful time. We had never had brisket, fried okra, hush puppies, or southern sweet tea, and boy were we in for a treat- everything was so delicious, we couldn’t stop raving about it. As we were finishing up and again complimenting Cindy, she asked my name, and when she repeated it, I teared up, as she pronounced it exactly like my southern mom said it, which is different from how everyone in the north says it, including my family. It was like my mom was watching me enjoying these southern foods and smiling. I will never forget it- Thank you.
