Instead of the bland chips and salsa you get at more traditional restaurants of this type you get Mexican street corn. Excellent. The main courses were also great with large portions for the money. The only issue was the Tabasco hot sauce on the table. To me it just did not mix with the cuisine. A more Mexican slant would be a better fit. Just saying. Service was excellent.
The staff was personable and friendly. Instead of chips and salsa brought to the table, they served complimentary Mexican street corn which was delicious. Everything we ordered was fantastic! We spoke with the owner and they purchase locally including meat from Hickory Nut Gap Farm. It looked like they some wonderful mixed drink options as well. I highly recommend this restaurant!
This place is OUTSTANDING! Some of the friendliest people I've ever met work here. And the food is absolutely delicious! The drinks are so good that you will want to try them all! This is officially my new favorite restaurant on my side of town!!
My parents and I had a great experience here. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by very friendly staff who thanked us for coming. We were seated right away and given free elotes (street corn). It was so delicious! They even brought us more after we ate the first round. The server was so friendly and helpful since we didn’t know what everything was. After we ordered our entrees, the food came out very fast. Everything was delicious! We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back.
We were looking for a Mexican Restaurant and were overwhelmed with choices in this area. Decided to go withLa Rumba Restaurant Latino as it was the highest rated in the area. So very glad we did.The menu was not your typical Mexican menu, so we were a bit concerned with choosing lunch. The waitress was very helpful in describing the different dishes and sides.I went with the Chicken Street Tacos with black beans and a side salad, my wife had the Enfrijoladas (?) with grilled veggies and a side salad. Both meals were over the top great! The salads were fresh, generous and very tasty, with orange slices complementing the onion quite nicely. Both main dishes looked great and after my wife tasted hers, the first thing she said was, “Can we eat there tomorrow before we leave Asheville?” I am pretty sure we will be back today. The owner stopped by the table twice, once to make sure everything was tasting good, then when we were done to thank us for stopping in. He was generous with his time and answered a couple of questions we had on the style of cooking and the spices. After eating way too much, we both noticed that we never had that too full feeling in the afternoon. A compliment to the great cooking.
Any place that brings you street corn to start gets an A+ in my book. The owner is super kind, and this food really tastes like it was cooked with heart and soul. It’s delicious, authentic Mexican with a Cuban, Caribbean influence. The best Latino food I’ve had since living in Florida. And they serve brunch ALL DAY! With mimosas and a beautiful bar! What more could you want? We will definitely be returning for more.
This place is AMAZING! This is the first truest Spanish food I have ever had in Asheville NC! The service is AMAZING and so Friendly!! I feel like I am in Miami eating food! I WILL be back more than once!
Fantastic service and amazing food! The quality is on point with any southern California favorite I’ve enjoyed previously. The mole is A STAR!!! Don’t miss out on this gem. And when you go, get a spicy margarita! You won’t be disappointed
Went tonight for the first time and it was FANTASTIC. My husband got the fish tacos with nopales and charro beans and I got Mike’s Sampler, all of it was so fresh and delicious. The service was great too. Will absolutely be back.
I had the pleasure of visiting this fantastic restaurant earlier this week. I ordered a margarita, carne asada, and the empanadas. As a bonus, I was given an elote while I waited for my to go order. Absolutely delicious!!I am a hard critic of any Mexican establishment I visit being of Mexican nationality, and growing up with my mothers cooking. This place is an authentic restaurant with a twist. I highly recommend a visit here, you will not regret it!
