The service is lousy, too slow, 1 hour for two breakfast dishes
Don't go here (IHOP, 275-B Smokey Park Hwy, Asheville)!!!! 1 hr and 14 minutes and we were just being served food, breakfast!!! We waited for about 10 minutes to be seated ... no problem. But after the simple order was taken for 3 people, it was over an hour until the food came and it was wrong, incomplete and cold!!! This was not the worst part, the manager's response was horrific!I got up and went looking for and spoke to the manager, because we waited for about 10 minutes for the server to return to the table, but she never came back immediately to check or meal.The manager, was full of excuses!!!!!! She literally said to me, "I'm backed up", "nothing I can do" and the most appalling, wait for it ...... "maybe you can go find me some more cooks"!!!!!!!!!!!! How can a manager actually get away with this appalling, disrespectful behavior and speak to a paying customer like this??? Its beyond shocking and I'm totally stunned! I was not in the wrong, why am I being blamed? I expect to place an order, wait a reasonable amount of time and receive the food that was ordered and it be hot or at least warm. It is not a customer's responsibility to do the managers job. If there is an issue, there should be a simple and sincere apology and make it right. Don't unleash all of the restaurant's internal problems and inefficiencies on a customer and ask them to accept unexceptable, horrible service, as if it somehow justifiable.The manager yanked the plates from the table (to send them back) and she never showed back up to our table again!! There was never an apology, except from the server, which was accepted. But even the server was missing it in so many areas: we asked for ketchup 2 times, syrup 2x, hashbrowns 2x and the side of avocado. The server kept a good attitude, but was very inefficient and needs additional training.At all times there was about 6 tables that were unoccupied, so it was not super busy.Let's summarize: an hour wait AFTER being seated, cold and incorrect order, an accusatory, irresponsible and disrespectful manager that never apologized and never came back to check on us, an inefficient server, tasteless watery coffee and waited about an hour and 20 minutes to finally eat the correct meal.To top it all off (this is where you know if they really care about you the customer) ... we were given a total of $4.37 discount!!!! That didn't even take care of the cost of our coffee (which was $7.77). This is a slap in the face. I WILL NEVER EVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!
So darn expensive now. Nothing less than $9. But really it wasn't the price at all that was the problem. Front desk/waitress sat us at requested booth which was nice but then let us just sit. Never said a waitress would be with us, never asked us if we wanted a drink to wait Nothing. We just sat, staring at the new menus and crazy prices. Kids meal prices were still decent but we had no kids with us at the time. Sat so long we walked out & as we were walking out the next booth is looking around and the gentleman said "their walking out too" as we walked past them. The ONLY waitress/front desk just continues cleaning the tables. Literally there were only 4 tables occupied in the entire place at this time. Highly suggest getting more staff or at least start people off with a drink so they don't walk out as we did. At this time this place deserves no service. Went to waffle house across the street. At first it seemed bad but quick service and yummy food at definitely better price
Severely understaffed. There was only one waitress and she was doing her best to both wait on the tables and buss then at the same time. She was really nice and came over when ever she could to check in. Tons of props for her to pull all that off with half of the restaurant full. The food came out great. Everything was correct and hot. Would eat there again when traveling back through.
Waitress took our order and did not return for about 40 minutes with drink and food. They were maybe about 40% capacity… requested manager to at least get our drinks and they brought one tea. Not 2. No apologies and the waitress referred to my husband as “Man” ? steak tips tasted like they were soaked in sugar? I realize it’s a breakfast place but did not expect sweet steak ? . We realize places are short staffed but there is no excuse for unprofessional staff from management to servers and not to mention the bathrooms were filthy with trash and TP all over the floor . Would not recommend. This was an 11:30 am visit.
Waited over 45 minutes to get our food. When it finally came there was a hair in one of the dishes. management came back and started to make excuses as to how it got there. terrible service. skip this location if at all possible. Most incompetent management and waiter I've ever dealt with.
The slowest service I have ever had at a restaurant. And we were the only people there (not exaggerating). Our drinks were empty with no refill. Supposed to have unlimited pancakes but after waiting 30min for the server to return, empty drinks and no server we decided to just pay and leave instead
The food was delicious. The server/hostess/cashier/busser was struggling to keep all the customers handled until help could arrive, but she got the job done with a smile. Couldn’t ask for more.
I went in on a Saturday evening...very quiet, only one party seated, and still couldn't get anyone to serve me. No worries, though--always someone else more than happy to get my business.
my cheese burger and fries were cold my wifes pancakes were so cold the butter wouldn't even melt her eggs weren't hot, long story short the whole order was cold.
