All of the previous reviews are spot on. The doughnuts are unique, light, and delicious. The service is quick and friendly. We really loved trying the different flavors, but the sesame almond was my favorite. I highly recommend Hole Doughnuts.
Hands down the best doughnut I have ever had! If you love yeast raised hot made to order doughnuts then this place is for you! My husband and I got all 4 flavors they had. Vanilla glazed, sesame ( different but very tasty) cinnamon sugar, and the special - Earl Grey. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy soft in the middle. The glaze was sweet with hint of salt that balances everything out nicely (nothing like those overly sweet things you get at the popular chain). So good!
Oh my gosh! Best donuts ever! We tried 4 different ones and they were all delicious. Paired with a good cup of coffee and their local milk and it was a great breakfast. They were busy but had outstanding service for pick up orders. The co-owner came out and thanked us for supporting them. We will definitely be back when in the area.
WOW! These are great donuts! It is currently order online and pick up at store due to covid restrictions, but we ordered from the parking lot and had our donuts in minutes. Hot, fresh airy, sweet. Delicious. You got to try them out.
The donuts were the best. Hot as promised and delicious! The young lady that prepared my order was very friendly and went above and beyond to take care of all the customers that were there at the same time I was. Highly recommended!!!
Heard good things about this West Asheville made to order doughnut spot and we were not disappointed. The owner greets you personally and though I'm not normally a hot doughnut person- fresh is best here! We HAD to try them all. The sesame was a pleasant surprise but the vanilla was to die for. Was very excited about the pumpkin sorghum but it was spicy and not what we were hoping for. Tasty but simple coffee and we'll definitely send our friends here. Best tip: go to their website and order ahead!

These are the BEST, BEST donuts ever to grace the Earth. Wowzah, I can not even begin to describe the immense joy you feel while eating each bite. Each order is made fresh, just for you. So, that means the donuts are fresh, hot, soft, and perfectly delicious! My family and I traveled several hours to get here after seeing their rave reviews. This shop was listed as the TOP donuts in NC. But in all honesty, I think they are the best donuts in the world!!! I also wanted to shed light on a woman who worked there with reddish curly hair and an upbeat personality. I think she is the owner, but regardless, she was an absolute doll! She interacted with each customer she met and kept them updated on the status of their order. She checked in with us to see if there was anything else we needed to improve our (already exceptional) experience, which shows how much she went the extra mile. I’m looking forward to the next time I'm in Asheville so that I can get my hands on these puppies. Get the glazed and cinnamon sugar; they are worth all the calories.

In looking for a place to eat breakfast last week, my husband and I stumbled upon Hole Doughnuts. We are regular Asheville visitors and thought we had tried all the places, but Hole Doughnuts caught our eye. These are quite possibly the BEST doughnuts I have EVER had. The owner makes the yeast doughnuts from scratch each day and they are cooked to order. Using the same base dough, the owner creates 4 flavors. On the day we went, she had cinnamon and sugar, vanilla glazed, beignet, and almond/sesame. We purchased a bakers' half-dozen (7 doughnuts) and had an assortment of cinnamon/sugar, beignet, and vanilla glazed. The owner uses rice bran oil for frying, and it is a GAME CHANGER! Typically, one doughnut will leave me feeling like I've eaten a lead weight, but my husband and I ate the whole bakers' half-dozen and didn't have that blah feeling whatsoever. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the owner. She is fiery, not because of her red hair, but because of her upbeat, friendly, and magnetic personality. She called me by name before we left and just made the experience so personable. On my next trip to Asheville, I will definitely go back to Hole and will recommend it to all of my friends. Don't miss this jewel!!
