For small little Asheville, NC; Heiwa Shokudo was an amazing little gem downtown.Their staff was absolutely polite, friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself was a extremely homie and cozy. The prices were remarkable! I was absolutely shocked how full I with the prices I've spent. Although, the hot pot taste more like a ramen broth; it was yummy. My party absolutely enjoyed her ramen. This establishment is vegan, vegetarian and all the above friendly. There is no personal parking lot so you will have to park in paid parking or along the streets.Overall, this was a place I would surely visit again while in Ashville.

Slow service but it is worth it . Great service . Will do again but with less plates plus all their Roman is pork broth :( but the server told us there is a vegan choice. :)

Once you eat here you'll recognize every other sushi place in town is almost garbage. So decide if you're ready. It is certainly a bummer to no longer be able to fully enjoy any of the other places. But at the same time, to experience the revelation of FRESHNESS which is this place, is totally worth it. ??

Great vegan options and kids menu. Went there with a group of 6 and everyone was happy. Our waitress Alex was amazing. She managed all our different requirements very well. Haven’t experienced great service like this in a long time.

Loved everything about this place - service is amazing and the food exceeded expectations. Best sushi I’ve had in Asheville yet! Very fresh and done right - no fillers or short cuts. And the tonkatsu pork belly ramen was amazing. Paired with the cozy, homey vibe and lounge/jazz music - it made for the perfect weekday lunch

I ate here on a Saturday night and had a lovely experience. My ramen and sake were delicious and just what I needed to warm me up as the temperature started to drop outside. I had the black garlic ramen which was incredibly flavorful and made amazing leftovers. The space isn't huge but it's not cramped at all, inside or on the patio where I sat. My waitress was very kind and attentive to everyone-- you could tell she was working hard! Staff were all masked. Would definitely go here again!

such a cute little place! i sat at the window and read and it was truly amazing. the food was absolutely delicious (i had the tonkotsu ramen) and it was; in a word, amazing! to finish off my lovely afternoon there, i got the dango and it was super crisp and tasty! you’ll be seeing me there again!

It's a super cute place, the staff is really nice, and the food came out in batches so we always had something to nibble on.We ordered three of the monster rolls, which ARE large. Godzilla was our least favorite, Gamora and Morhra were both great. The hot pot comes preassembled, so it's really just soup. Maybe pre-covid this was served DIY. Either way, the broth was delicious and the leftovers were great days later.I've only tried it during cold weather but it looks to have outdoor seating, which is probably lovely in warm weather.Keep in mind this place is TINY. Tiny dining room, tiny kitchen, and with COVID they're conscious of not cramming in customers like sardines. They also seem to have pretty steady online orders. They're not going to crank out dishes like a large restaurant. Have patience, it's worth the wait.

We ❤️ Heiwa!!! I dream of their steam buns. Alex was great!

Such a hidden gem! The owner diligently sources local and serves up incredible, authentic Japanese food.
