Don't waste your money. Chic Fil A is still in business. I say that because it was our original choice for a meal. Big mistake, reheated shrimp that is still cold when you get your plate is unacceptable. I don't mind paying a fair price for a good meal, but when the food is not good, it is not just the cold shrimp that leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
We really enjoy eating here. However, since CoVid hit, prices are out of the roof. We used to be able to get lunch specials under $20. We paid over $30 for two lunches this past week. We got two of the light portions. Some meals have doubled.
I have been an Asheville resident all of my life and I have frequented harbor inn. It has always been a great family friendly affordable seafood restaurant. My wife and I chose to pick food up there last night.First off I want to say that I understand that financially things are tight since COVID but they are also tight for families. My wife and I got a shrimp dinner and a broiled fish dinner. First thing I noticed that they are charging .40 cents for every sauce over 1. But I also noticed that the prices have come up quite a bit. Since my last visit a few months ago. The whole meal came to 42.00 without a tip for 2 people to eat.I am not sure why it was that expensive. We could have literally gone to Red Lobster or any other restaurant and eaten for roughly the same amount for 2 people. I'm not being mean but Harbor Inn is not on the same level. It's a family restaurant not a premium restaurant.
If you get the to go order, you better check what's in your bag. I've got four (4) to go orders, and never got what I paid for.. I told the teller woman, she said "well, you need to be more careful."They now charge for extra tartar sauce or butter.Even if you eat in, they charge for extra slaw, which they didn't do in the past. It seems like all restaurants went to Hell in a hand basket.
I had the shrimp special and it was delicious. We had about 8 at our table and everyone enjoyed their meal. Good size portions and mid price range. Over all highly recommended.
Was around the Asheville area and decided to try this restaurant and am glad we did. Laci the one in-charge of our table was friendly and attentive. We tried the crabby oyster it was so tasty!! ? we also had broiled cod and tilapia also delicious and they have the best hush puppies also. Very nice experience and just a short wait when you order.

Great fries seafood. Hush puppies were light and crispy and HOT. Shrimp was excellent too. Tarter sauce was so so. Service was extraordinary with a great attention to requests with authentic smiles. Flounder fried just right Crispy but plenty of "meat" inside! A really good place to eat seafood! We had a giant onion ring appetizer. Good, but not near as good as the seafood and hush puppies. Thanks Harbor House.
Roasted veggies were awesome! Fantastic grilled salmon. Our server was prompt, friendly and informative. ?
Great atmosphere, wide open dinning room, friendly staff. Food served fast and hot. Large portions.
