They used to be so good and reliable. But I spent $80 there on Saturday buying rolls, bread, cinnamon rolls and raspberry rolls. I ended up throwing most of it out. Dry, tough white dough, virtually inedible.
I stopped by for coffee &. I had a terrible time choosing everything looked so good. A cinnamon bun won out - it was so good, flavors of moist raisins, cinnamon, sweet. I can't wait to taste the Rugelachs chocolate and cinnamon.
As I live in an area that doesn’t have much in the way of bakeries or bagel spots, I wanted to take the family out to Geraldine’s. Glad we did! There are all kinds of breakfast options that are savory; finish up with a sweet and you are good for the day. I had egg and pimento cheese on a bagel. Definitely delicious- just not the NY style bagel I expected. We didn’t try any of the sweets as the savory breakfast was more than enough. But based on the smells, I am confident the sweets here are amazing.
I ordered a quarter sheet cake for my Mother-in-law’s birthday. She loves carrot cake, so I asked if they could make a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. They did and it was absolutely the best carrot cake I have ever eaten. Moist and full of carrots, walnuts and other flavors. It was also huge, and could easily feed 20 people!
Oh my goodness what a treat! We are visiting Asheville and asked about a good bakery, Geraldine’s was suggested…we were not steered wrong!
I loved the vibe, the staff was great, so I was really bummed how disappointing the food was. I ordered the spicy veg croissant and lemon turnover. When I got home, it was a cheese croissant. It was bland and somehow the bottom was soggy and puckered. The turnover was flaky but dry like all the butter had leaked out. The lemon filling tasted exactly the same as the industrial lemon filling from inside a grocery store filled donut.Wondering if I ordered wrong or it was an off day?
My husband and I found this gem yesterday morning. Highly recommend the apple jack pastry. Everything is delectable!!
It's our neighborhood bakery. Fred the baker gets up and makes everything fresh, is sweet wife Rose sells it. They close at 1:00 like a good Baker should. They wake up in the morning and do it again fresh everyday. We're really lucky to have them.
When I first walked in, I could not believe how few pastries were sitting in the display. I inquired about buying a cake and both people behind the counter looked at me like I was crazy. When I went to order some thing I got an eye roll from the woman and the stoner kid with her looked confused. Overpriced And gross, I was pretty embarrassed having to hand over a box of their cookies at a dinner party. As soon as I left the place I had to call my friend and just say how shocked I was with the level of unprofessionalism and lack of pastries for a bakery. I asked the woman behind the counter what was the best cake for me to order next time and she put her hand up to me and said, “Wait!” Rudely. How are they still open? I have no idea. Awful experience and not cheap. The pastries taste like something you could get from Costco.
First of all, I asked for purple icing. The icing on the cake is clearly blue. The lady at check out told me that they were not able to make purple icing and only could use the blue icing left over from another cake they made. This is absolutely RIDICULOUS and poor customer service. If someone asks for a specific color, they should get that color. Let alone the horse that was drawn on looks like something a child would draw- which honestly wouldn’t had mattered if the cake tasted good because it was actually kinda funny. The cake was TASTELESS. It was as if someone forgot to add an ingredient or as if it was made without sugar. If you can’t make a cake correctly and have it taste correctly, you might be taking on too many cakes to make or maybe you should consider taste testing your cakes before you sell them. A grocery store bakery would have been 100 times better.
