Do the tour if you have time. It's pretty interesting and a great way to spend an hour. I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate but really enjoyed the experience of seeing how chocolate is sourced all the way through to the end product. Seeing the employees making delicious morsels by hand is great for kids too. The owner/founder was fantastic and told us about some of the logistics they are facing and plans for how they are expanding the sustainable and responsible business.
Really enjoyed stopping in for a sweet snack in their lounge.Nice selection of coffees, cakes, Gelato and chocolates.Cool coffee house setup.I have seen lines out the door during busy times.Worth a stop and get dome chocolates to go.
Very fascinating place. The tour guide was knowledgeable and professional about the business. My fiance and my daughter enjoyed the tour as well.
Amazing chocolate. Also, a very cool factory and cafe. The chocolate factory tour was very informative and for the science lovers, they go into interesting details on the biology and chemistry of the entire chocolate process from growing to the manufacturing of the pieces you eat.
The tour begins with a short presentation and tasting. Dairy free is available upon request. Our guide was lively and very knowledgable. The presentation covers the beginnings of French Broad Chocolate and the cofounders backgrounds. Thier passion and dedication to ethical single bean sourcing is evident throughout the presentation, tasting and tour. The facility was spotlessly clean. They have a short menu in the cafe if you want chocolate or coffee to drink and a cookie. They make their own icecream and have a good variety. They have plenty of chocolate to choose from if you'd like to take some home. Their main bakery and pastry offering is at a different location and a tour discount is extended to that location. The tour is budget friendly and does include three small bite of chocolate and a bonbon. The chocolate for purchase is right-priced for the ethical sourcing and craftsmanship that goes into each piece.
My husband and I initially visited the downtown Asheville chocolate lounge for treats. It was so yummy that on our second trip to town, I scheduled us to visit the factory for a tour. We had a great time learning about the start of French broad chocolates, the process of making it, and a tour of the factory. The tasting was so eye opening! Great time, 100% recommend - especially as a family or date idea. Or if you just love chocolate.
This tour has wonderful reviews and sadly we did not have the same experience. Our tour guide did the best she could. I am guessing she was a fill in and this was not her normal gig.
YUM! Went on a chocolate factory tour. Cost was $12 each and took 45 min. Didn't realize so much went into making chocolate. Really enjoyed! Recommend.
Wonderful experience. Very interesting to learn more about chocolate and how it processed and the different flavors from different countries. Tasting was very informative.I will say go early in the day and not late in the day and I think the factory will be doing more. We were late in the afternoon and it they were cleaning up for the day. But still a really fun place to visit.
Excellent and Informative tour, interesting to both my children and myself. ... not to mention, Delicious!
