Every tapa has amazing flavor - the next one you order is better the prior one. Just an amazing dining experience.

I read all the reviews and I thought this was going to be an amazing experience. The staff was lovely and the place is very nice. I was not that impressed with the food. Nothing was bad but nothing was amazing as I was told. I do recommend the chilled almond and garlic soup. I do recommend the lamb skewers to be mixed with the Stuffed peppers with Spanish goat cheese. I don’t recommend the pulpo, octopus.
Curate is located in downtown Asheville, NC. It is a restaurant specializing in tapas and small plates. The atmosphere, service and food is excellent. Like I was in Barcelona again. Two of us sat at the bar and watched the staff prepare dishes. We had trout, octopus, turnips, blend of olives, almejas (clams, pork, chickpeas). the wine recommendation (2019 Gaba Do Xit) was perfectly outstanding. If you are interested in trying this unique dining experience - you must make a reservation days in advance.
Very good food, and good drinks. Interesting door choices - Tapas and more - and very nice, accommodating staff. Very enjoyable experience
Having booked months in advance due to the popularity of this restaurant, the service & food offering left us feeling so disappointed. A large, expansive restaurant with a sit-at bar, the rear seating area lacks much of the atmosphere of the front. Our Server lacked genuine engagement and her menu knowledge left us none the wiser what items to choose. Instead of the Tapas all coming out at once, allowing us to graze between the plates, they arrived in intervals. The food itself was average, certainly not memorable. Having paid the bill in full, I took the time to share my disappointment with the Manager, a total waste of time as she made absolutely no attempt to understand what the real issues were or indeed offer a genuine apology.
We had a wonderful, interesting meal at Curate. We had to be on the wait list and fortunately were texted when a table opened up. This was by far the best meal on our 12 day vacation. Each dish (we had 9 or 10 shared by 3 people) was more delicious than the next. We had 2 different wines (an albarino and a tempranillo) both recommended by our server and both were excellent. Our server, Angelica, was charming and knew the menu so well. She gave great suggestions and encouraged us to make all of our choices at the outset so she could pair them best and she was spot on! The pacing of the meal was perfect and we never felt rushed. Would definitely recommend and we will be back!!
We loved this place . Had dinner reservations at 7:00 pm and we were seat it right away . Our server was very nice and was just checking in us the whole time . This is a tapas staple restaurant so we order everything to share ! After our dinner we left to go walk around . Went to the rooftop close by and service or drinks were good so we just enjoyed the view and decide to go back to curate .When we got back there we explained the hostess we just had dinner she thought they couldn’t seat us for a drink and appetizers but the manager was right there and he made it happened . We sat by the kitchen bar and it was perfect because want it to be there . Our server was super nice and we ordered two more drinks and try the potatoes and had another octopus! If we ever go back to Asheville we would go back to curate ! Curate is more than a restaurant, it’s a journey to the wonderful world of Spaniard food. A culinary experience like no other in Asheville. This is arguably one of the best Spanish restaurant in the US. Cúrate would compete with the good ones in Spain if it was located there. The food is amazingly delicious, the wine selection is near perfect and the service is outstanding. In case you wonder, price is about $50-$60 for person with wine included. We ordered quite a few tapas and had delicious wine for a fair price. Absolutely worth it. To add some perspective to my thoughts; I rarely give 5 dots to any restaurant and I’m Spaniard. That’s how good Cúrate is.
