The food at Cocula is just,so good. It is original, and tasty,... and I really, really enjoyed my meal.? Jesse, our server, was attentive, happy,and polite. I really missed eating there during covid. The staff are always nice and helpful. The food is always wonderful and I always enjoy a trip to the salsa bar. I enjoy the outside seating the best.
I don’t know of a Mexican restaurant in the Asheville area that I haven’t eaten at. This is not the fanciest in town, but it is the best, the most consistent. The standard dishes taste authentic and exactly how they are supposed to. That is not the case for most of the competition.
This place is a hidden gem. I got the Asada and Al Pastor tacos and both were amazing. Their salsa bar is phenomenal. Definitely try to the chipotle sauce and salsa verde. Horchata was really good too. Highly recommend to any mexican food lovers near Asheville area.
Best food, drinks & desert in all of asheville! Been eating here for over 20 years & will not go to another Mexican restaurant in town!!

The food is great even when I order to go food. It's hot never wrong on the order and very tasty. The service is on or off I have noticed. Sometimes amazing sometimes ur not even noticed unless u ask to be. I love the homemade salsa here is the best in Asheville hands down , I will keep coming back.
Everyone was really nice and helpful. The gold margaritas is so tasty, and with 1800 tequila, it is just so good and maybe too easy to drink ;) The salsa bar is great, all of the salsas are really good, flavorful and unique. The lunch menu was all under 10 dollars, and the food came out really fast. The ideal place if you're in the mood for Mexican food! Tue salsa bar is not watered down at all like most places, so you don't have to worry about spilling some on your clothes.
