The experience of dining outside with the sun shining was fabulous. The patio is large, plenty of space, and the tables are cute. If they ever throw a block party style event here, it would be so cool, the location is perfect. Our waitress with the long feather earrings was a damn delight. She was friendly, attentive, and when there was an issue with receiving the wrong item, she resolved it beautifully, which I super appreciate. The niçoise salad my friend got was large and she seemed happy with it. The dressing we both got was incredible - some balsamic situation that was perfectly balanced. The sausage patty was well seasoned. The fruit in the fruit plate was fresh and flavorful. The beef in the carne empanada was well seasoned. Now for the less than stellar bits:The mushroom tamale was bizarre. The filling was underseasoned and contained roughly one and a half button mushrooms; the masa was bland and bordering on gummy. A bummer, because it came beautifully wrapped in the corn huskThe breakfast potatoes were good, par boiled before making so they were cooked through and seasoned with a tasty rosemary blend. I wish they were a bit crispier. The food was solid, the mimosa was (properly) mostly champagne, the prices were reasonable, and the ambiance was sweet. I'd definitely come here again.

The customer service was good but the reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the food wasn’t so great. I had ordered chicken and beef empanadas which came out pretty soggy, there was no crunch to it at all. The taste of them was decent but it still needs some work. The side salad was okay, could’ve used more dressing. I did get the raspberry jam crepe for dessert and I can say that it made up for the food. Their prices doesn’t match up with the food but I hope that they can step it up and maybe I’ll be back.

Flavorless goo. The empanadas were soggy, with no area of crispy dough anywhere. The dessert crepe had no sugar, which left the chocolate sauce a drizzle of bitterness. Thank goodness I ate the salad last, as it was the only palatable course; indeed, it was the only course I could bear to finish. This restaurant made me cry for Argentina.

I was invited by a friend to join him at Cecilia's Kitchen for a lunch of crêpes. I had never been before. This restaurant is newly located on Merrimon just in front of the SavMor grocery and across the street from Grace Episcopal Church.I haven't had a crêpe in years and kicked myself for stupidly depriving myself! The food was delicious, with plentiful portions that resulted in doggy bags for both of us! There are both savory and dessert crêpes made with buckwheat flour, tamales and empanadas, an eclectic sandwich menu (including a cuban sandwich!), salads, charcuterie/cheese/fruit appetizers, a good selection of wines, a reasonable (but not extensive) bar selection and aperitif's, and lovely desserts. Gluten-free and vegetarian offerings and mostly local, organic, fresh ingredients. The ambience and decor was really lovely with living plants and flowers inside, a European feel, and quite a number of tables outside, under cover,, even with outdoor heaters. The experience was so very pleasant. We recommend it.

Ate here March 30 at whistle hop brewing. Terrible food truck experience. Not even greeted by the attendant at the truck. He just sat there silent. We had not been to a food truck in forever so we tried this one. The tamales were dry, pasty and overly thick w the cornmeal part and contained like an ounce of chicken. Was given about two tablespoons of mole sauce on the side. These didn’t even taste good. Terrible. My husband’s Cuban had the smallest amount of meat I’ve ever seen and lacked flavor as well. Seems this business is charging $12 yet cut the price ingredients by giving half the amount they should.

Had food from the food truck - the guy was really nice and professional. Quick service. The food was disappointing. Mostly flavorless Cuban - all we could taste was the mustard. We also got the ham and Swiss cheese crepe and it had an extremely bitter aftertaste, paired with a bitter kale salad. Overpriced for the quality.

Tamales have been a Christmas Eve tradition in our household for the past 9 years. Moving to Asheville we were happy to find Cecilia’s as a local source and have honestly enjoyed their tamales.Until this year. We purchased a variety as usual and realistically they were lackluster at best. There was no salsa provided as there previously was and the contents of the tamales were meager and tasteless.Usually I’m not one to leave bad reviews but we were super disappointed this year and will likely have to learn to make these ourselves or order online and ship them in.

We had a delicious meal, enjoyed meeting Matt or server. Will definitely eat here again!

The food is as beautiful as the woman. Cecilia's offers delicious savory and dessert crepes, scrumptious empanadas, amazing tamales and more. I wish we lived in the area to sample more of the items offered on the menu. The staff was very friendly with great recommendations.

Love the variety of great food! This is our new lunch meeting place.
