A place pretty much free of tourists. Zero pretentiousness. Lots of outside space, nice staff. Refreshing...
Great beer, great bartenders, owner is awesome and the patio is great for socializing too.

Jervey was the absolute best bartender ever 10/10 would hire him for private events during his off time. great sense of humor and really made the experience all that much better.

This used to be a great bar. Now it's a place next to a great restaurant.
I've been a member of Cascade for years and really enjoy the atmosphere; dogs allowed and funky decor, but I don't think I'll be back. It's gone downhill since they did away with the food trucks (Homegrown restaurant just isn't my cup of tea) The nail in the coffin was them requiring me to pay five dollars to be a member. It used to be a token charge of a dollar, like the rest of the "private clubs" in Asheville. Requiring me to pay $5 for the privilege of buying drinks is just insulting. There are literally hundreds of amazing places to drink in Asheville, for free; I'll be going elsewhere from now on. It's a shame. Same thing happened with Bywater. It used to be a lot of fun and then they starting doing, similar, foolish things that alienated their customers. Now Bywater is closed. Go figure.
