This is a great place to go for views of the blue ridge mountains and a drink. They have lots of outdoor space with heaters and tables with servers. They manage the capacity so if you have a big party you may have to go up in shifts.
The location is very pretty but the sunset view is definitely obstructed by a large building when we were there (July). The atmosphere is very pretty and clean, both patios are nice areas as well. Unfortunately due to the seat where you wish policy, the staff's tables are overly spread out and their attention to the table lacks due to that. Our server was very pleasant. I was very excited for this experience within the hotel we were staying at but the food was lacking, especially for the price point. With tapas being the main theme, we expected a better execution of the items. If you are going, we recommend the burger which was perfectly cooked and the patatas these we the best options out of those we tried.
Rooftop dining at Capella on 9 is excellent. Stayed at the AC Hotel where Capella is the hotel restaurant. Breakfast is either a la carte or buffet. Coffee and tea are free until 11 AM for hotel guests. Angela is an outstanding server at breakfast. Buffet is Euroroean in nature with freshly sliced meats and cheeses, large assortment of juices, fresh fruit and croissants, eggs and frttatas and oatmeal. Buffet also includes eggs cooked to order. Dinner is very pleasant. Service is efficient and the view from the oudoor patios is exceptional. Nice bar menu as well.
I wish I could remember our servers name but she was TOP NOTCH (I do remember she had short blonde hair). We came in with a huge party for my sisters 21st birthday and couldn’t have picked a better spot because we felt welcomed and were taken care of. The drinks were pricey but good. I do wish the charcuterie board had been a bit bigger for the money but overall, everything was very tasty.
Great rooftop bar atop the AC Hotel. Very busy bar, so go early and plan to stay awhile. Food was decent, but expensive. Fried chickpeas are good as is the pesto/caprese flatbread (which ate more like a pizza). Service is slow and my particular server was not particularly observant to our table. Will go again, just won't want the same server.
We had heard great thinks about Capella on ( and decided to try the terrace for some food and drinks. We were told by the hostess that we could sit wherever we pleased and that there were servers everywhere except in the bar proper, where one would order from the bar. We chose a table with a great view on the terrace. It took a server 20 minutes to come to our table. Yes, I did wave at some servers after a long wait to get some attention. While the server that arrived regretted the wait, she seemed non-the-less not all that interested in attending to us. Given the approach and waits, we decided to skip the food and ordered a couple of drinks. My wife had a glass of Pinot Grigio and I had the Capella on 9 G&T. Both were excellent!
A very sweet rooftop restaurant with plenty of inside and outside seating. The food was good and our server was very welcoming and attentive. Would definitely visit again!
Lovely rooftop restaurant perfect for sunset views, dinner and drinks! The rotating sangria was light, refreshing and delicious! The olives and grilled naan and crab cakes were wonderful! Great atmosphere!
Visited this location on the rooftop bar tour and am so glad that we did the drinks both for the tour and the ones we ordered we amazing. The views that you have from this rooftop were gorgeous. It was crowded when we were there, so it wasn't that easy to get pictures and I feel it might be like that normally, but if you get a chance to visit do it!
4 stars? Wrong. 5 star bar only because that's the highest it goes. Would give more if possble and that does not happen often. Im a 5 star kinda guy. We rolled in and Candra and Trey took the kind of care that made us think we were royalty. The menu is very informative and anything that you might think isn't descriptive enough.... BAM .. information from the bartenders. Drinks, i cant say enough about them all. Get the "dont be salty ". Trust us. Everything else.. well, lets say i thought drinks were the same everywhere.. not so. Smoked manhattan, ACGT...OLE#4... thank me later. Elevated. Period. Food, well, we decided on the beet salad and the grilled portobello with goat cheese. Both extremely flavorful. If youre a carnivore, get the portabello anyway because its tough to tell the difference. Yum!. Marie's affinity for goat cheese reigned supreme and since the GP was so good, we went ahead ordered the charcuterie plate. Today it was Manchego, goat cheese, brie, creme brie, soprasata and prosciutto. Oh did I mention the local mustard, candied almonds and fig jam? We don't want to leave, but as I sit here and the sun goes down over the mountains... its just time for us. The second trip is ready planned for this Friday. Amazing place. It's top 50 in the country for a reason. Don't miss it. Tell them you heard it here... it won't do anything but I'm glad you decided to try it. You won't be disappointed!
