This cozy, little eatery has truly authentic food from Thailand. The exotic flavors of ginger, chili, galangal, lemon grass, turmeric and coriander are bountiful. The vegetables and produce are fresh and the sauces add delicate flavors. The tofu is crispy and tasty. This is the best Thai food I have had in Asheville. Also very nice portions, good service and lovely people. Thanks Baan Thai Kitchen!
I've had two different vegetarian curries so far and they have been delicious. Be sure to tell them what level spice you want since they haven't asked me either time. Good food at fair prices.

First time trying this place and it was delicious Thai food! Definitely will be back! Highly recommend that Massaman curry and drink man noodles with chicken. The Thai dumplings are also great!
Maybe just a really bad day, but what I was served didn't taste like any Thai food I have ever eaten (in Thailand, at cafes in the US, or Thai food festivals at Thai temples in the US, or Thai food I cook at home following Thai cookbooks written by Thai authors). The Laap was soggy chicken on a salad without any mint, which is pretty essential for this salad. The papaya salad tasted mostly of Jiffy crunchy peanut butter, which I love on white bread, but not at all on a papaya salad. No hint of fish sauce, no balance of salty, sweet, spicy. Absolutely off the flavor profile for both dishes, which are simple to prepare given the correct ingredients. Service was indifferent, bordering offensive. They were not busy, very few customers. I hope they will change their approach to this wonderful food, which is so remarkable when care is taken to perpare it well.
The chef is Thai and prepares it while you watch if you stand by your table in the front of the restaurant. She's a gem, as is the young lady who serves as the wait staff. We have always enjoyed our meals and we eat there often!
I order Pad kee mao, medium spicy it was delicious. It has alot fresh vegetables and flavor. Although food is a little pricey, but only get small portion.
