Many vegan options - and all delicious! The chef bent over backwards to grill my eggplant instead of frying it. He also swapped out gluten-free options for pasta for us. They were so accommodating! We will be back and I highly recommend them.
Excellent service from some very friendly, professional waitstaff. Waitstaff all very well versed is menu, options, and wine. Kitchen staff have it really going on!! Some amazing menu choices, all served in massive portions for price! Eggplant parm with a steak size piece of eggplant. Calzone the size of large platter. Excellent quality ingredients, diverse menu options. Many many vegetarian or vegan options. Great size place, very clean. I would maybe hope in future maybe some outdoor dining option added. But little hidden gem in west avl!!
They hand make the pasta here. If you don't mind paying just a little more than the chain places you can have real dishes. I orderd ravioli came with breadsticks and sauce. Order a coke. I had to order salad did not come with it. It was huge. The size of my main dish. All that plus a 25% tip was 19 and some change.
I ate here for the first time a few days ago, and I'm very glad that I gave them a chance. The food was very good! As other reviewers say - everything tastes fresh and homemade, including the noodles. Even the table bread was impressively tasty. My dining partner ordered pasta with the vegan meatballs, and they were surprisingly good. Many (most?) Chefs don't know how to prepare imitation meat to taste good. They usually fail to season it and show it love like they would real meat. The chef came out to talk to the diners, including us. As he talked I could tell that he gives serious thought and effort to creating good food. That's pretty refreshing when you compare to franchise "Italian" restaurants like Olive Garden. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I think the menu needs some improvement. There's a page for lunch, and 1 for dinner, but there's no explanation on what the actual difference except the price. I asked the waitress and she didn't know either. If they polish the menu up I would give them 5 stars. Either way I will be back there to eat again.
Yum...The food was great! They offer a bread that is served with a very tasty marinara sauce. For my meal, I had the Chicken Marsala and it was delicious. The noodles were a lovely wide flat noodle and the mushrooms were adequate in size and portion, very goldilocks- not too big, not too small. The ratio of chicken to mushrooms and to noodles was prefect. Everyone in my party was pleased with their entrees and not a bite was left. The portions were reasonable!
Wonderful experience and big props to the kitchen! Everything came out super fast. Veggies tasted like they had just been picked out of a garden. Pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked. Our server, Vinny, was on his game and sincerely personable. The environment of the restaurant was comfortable and cozy. Prices were fair. Tiramisu was to die for. Will definitely be back, possibly tomorrow.
Nice place, it was neat to see the old BBQ place turned into something nice. I would say this would be a good place to eat for a date night. On the fancier side. Waitress told us everything is homemade, pasta and all. Everything tasted good.
Well... I really hate to be "That Guy" after everyone else is just "Gushing" about how great the place is.... But... Our experience was a little bit different. My wife and I went on what I believe was their Grand Opening weekend and honestly, their processes were not honed and ready for real time. We were seated almost immediately but then waited almost 15 minutes for a server to greet us, an additional wait before we place our order and then roughly 10-15 minutes later our server shows back up at the table with menus to inform us that the kitchen is out of what we had ordered... I hold the kitchen accountable on that one... Wait staff should have been informed of such things IMMEDIATELY so that guests could be told. In managements defense, at that point we were offered any entree at 50% off... A good and fair deal. At that point I was highly irritated and had endured enough... I paid for my iced tea and we left for another restaurant.I might give them another chance after they get a little more experience under their belt but right now they only got the second star for effort.
Food is pretty good. Service could've been better. Also, a lunch menu with specials and less expensive pricing may be a good idea. Tough for west asheville residents to shell out 60+ dollars for a lunch for two.
Had high hopes... Food was mediocre at best. Probably would have been better if it didn't take an hour to get. Then again I was so hungry a boot heel would have been delicious. An Italian restaurant should be quick to serve fairly simple pasta dishes. No bread! No herbed oil or butter! If you're going to open a restaurant in Asheville you better come with your A game. If I could give it negative stars I would.
