My mom and niece have been to this restaurant several times and advised it was a must do in Asheville. We made reservations and were seated promptly. The service seemed rushed. My niece and I received the wrong drinks from the bar. We had not received the corrects ones by the middle of the meal and so we cancelled our order. The food was great and the manager apologized for the issue with the drinks and gave us a gift certificate to be used at another time. I don't think I will go this location again, but look forward to visiting other sites.

Everyone was extremely polite and happy to have us there. The atmosphere was great the food was in great portions and extremely fresh. I am stationed in Oklahoma but home is Brevard so every time I'm home I will come here.

I have been to this restaurant many times and have always had great food and service. I was there last week and had a bizarre experience. I asked to sit outside, and the hostess said OK, but we have an On-staff wait. I asked what is an on-staff wait. The hostess explained we had to waif for staff to arrive before we can sit out there. The time was 4:49 pm and I asked how long was the on staff wait wait. She said 5 pm, so 11 minutes that is fine, I told her no problem we would go out there and wait, she said that wasn't possible because it was an on-staff wait, but we could wait in the bar. Ok, so we went in the bar to wait the 11 minutes for the on-staff wait and have a nice beer. At 5:01 the hostess came in the bar and said she could seat us. Great! So we followed the hostess and she was taking us to an interior table. I said "do you recognize me?" We were waiting for an on-staff wait wait to go outside and sit. She said going out there isn't possible because there is an on-staff wait for outside seating. I said you told me 12 minutes ago there was a wait until 5 pm, she responded that there was an on-staff wait. I looked around to see if there was a camera rolling, I thought I was on "You Have Been Punked" or Candid Camera or something. I said are you serious, I really couldn't believe it? How long is the on-staff wait? Is it perpetual? She just blinked and looked at me like I was the crazy one. My friend finally said, we will take the inside table and we were seated. In a few minutes, another person came over, not our waitress, but someone who had water, and said Will will be your waiter? I asked Will he? She seemed to take offense and said, his name is Will not Willy. I said OK Will will be the waiter if he is not on the on-staff wait wait. Another person came over to take a drink order, and told us Will will be the waiter. I said really Will he? She just gave me a dirty look, but didn't say anything about Will not being Willy. Finally, the long awaited Will( not Willy) showed up to take our order, but the tuna which we always love, was not available, so we ended up with crab cakes, which were very good, but not what we really wanted. Other persons came to check on water etc, but the much discussed Will did not show up, so we had to ask one of the other staff for the check. She said, Will will be here with the check in just a second. I said "Will he?" I am telling the truth here, the waitress said, his name is Will not Willy. So I had another good laugh about it, finally Will got there with the check and we escaped the Twilight Zone. I am sure this is an aberration due to staff shortages and other Covid induced problems, because I have always had great service and food at 131 Main and hope it will return. It used to be my special occasion place, but I may have to save it for Groundhog Day or Friday the 13th or Halloween.

Ask for Will as your server! He was attentive, funny and tolerant of these two wanna-be food snobs from New Orleans. If you are familiar with and enjoy the Houston's/Hillstone restaurants, you will enjoy 151 Main just as much. The vibe, atmosphere, style and presentation is almost exactly the same - and that's not a bad thing at all. The reviews we read said to get two things: the cornbread and the strawberry shortcake, so we did. As appetizers, we ordered the smoked salmon (loved!) with the cornbread (a huge serving) and both were super good. For entrees, we ordered the crab cakes and the fish special which was Golden Tilefish. The crab cakes were a nice size and served in a yummy whole grain mustard sauce. But let me tell you about that Tilefish... it is a light, flakey fish that has a slightly sweet taste very similar to crab or lobster. I absolutely enjoyed it with the lemon butter crab sauce that was an option to get with the fish. Since it was our first time here (and because we entertained Will throughout the dinner), Will was kind enough to gift us with the last strawberry shortcake that they had available for dessert. The shortcake is more biscuit-like than cake which I loved (my sis prefers the cakey cake LOL) but that vanilla bean ice cream was to die for! Obviously, there was no way for us to eat all this food but we thoroughly enjoyed eating what we could.

Everything was delicious… filet and the ribeye… especially the desserts (key lime and banana crème). We’re worn out after hiking so didn’t get a chance to explore too much of the menu but still… delish. Waiter was super animated and fun.

The waitstaff was super friendly. We were seated quickly and staff was very attentive. They were pretty busy. The food was super delish. They had a great bev selection too.

We went to 131 Main as it was across the street from our hotel. We were Amazed at the food! It was simply delicious, fresh, and many items to choose from. Our server, Hope, was the best. She anticipated all of our needs, and we ended up going back 3 times in one week!!! We highly recommend this great restaurant....btw, they welcome pets on their outdoor patio.

Great dog-friendly patio with amazing service & yummy food! We picked this place based solely on it being within an area we felt comfortable in as well as it being dog-friendly (we were visiting from Michigan). And it beat our expectations. Cute patio with heaters, fire pit & not annoyingly-loud live music. Decent wine list & food was delicious-have to get the cornbread. Our dog did great on the patio. Really appreciated the hospitality, food & atmosphere.

Five of us had dinner there and two of us are from out of town. Our friends eat there regularly so we were excited to try it. Artichokes were ordered as an appetizer but they came out blackened and still flaming. They were sent back so we had to wait for another order. The second one wasn’t much better than the first but they ate it. Too charred for me. I ordered the plank salmon with asparagus and it was very good. Two people ordered the ribs and enjoyed them. The others ordered a salad and another artichoke as their entree. Both were satisfied. Service was a huge distraction so constantly interfered with our table conversation. Food was OK. Service a disappointment. Wish I could have raved about the experience but I couldn’t.

I wouldn’t post this review had I not had 2 bad experiences with takeout within 1 week. I first placed an order last Friday and nothing came out right and food was forgotten. I then called again the following Tuesday, I believe I spoke to the same person and was very specific with my ordering not that anything is too complicated and this time all 4 salads were incorrect and my fries were forgotten. Why place a takeout order just to have to wait another 20 minutes after having to go inside the restaurant when they order curbside. I live Charlotte and split my time in Asheville and those 3 locations are spot on with ordering. Someone needs to come and help the Asheville location. Who would ever put the dressing on the togo salads first off, make we wait a total of 40 minutes for it to be corrected and still charge me?? 2 disappointing experiences.
