(San Felipe Mexican Restaurant, Dixie Dr, Asheboro,NC) A great Mexican restaurant in the Asheboro area. The best thing to do at this restaurant is to get seated at a table. The food is great and they are fast bringing your food to the table. The only problem I always have is when I place a to go order. Everyone seems confused and it takes a while to get my food. Also, not a good idea to put someone on the cash register that can’t understand or speak English. I’ve stopped doing to go orders due to the confusion the staff has.

I arrived around 11:05am and there were three tables that were occupied at the time. I was unable to place an order over the phone, no one answered. We in person and placed a to go order. The order: 2 lunch chimichangas with chicken, side of beans. 1 chimi-Verde and an order of cheese dip. After a 45 minute waitand orders to go placed after being addressed, I received my food and went to the car and did not have the correct order. Apparently there was a misunderstanding on the order. I go back to the restaurant and a man in a button down shirt asks what it was supposed to be. He goes to the back I hear the waitress saying "she said beans" and four staff members looked towards me at the register and then other things were said that weren't audible. If you're going to talk about a customer where they can hear it address it with them. Then the second time I receive the order, it was missing the cheese dip. The two men in button down shirt were polite when addressing the issues. The waitress may just be having a bad day but customer service is a big part of the industry she is in. A full receipt was never given, only a partial one due to needing to change out the receipt paper.

The steak nachos this place sells for $10.99 only comes with lettuce, a single tomato slice, an undetectable amount of cheese, day old tortillas, and the meat. For $11 you get about half the basic ingredients for nachos. 2 oz of queso was $1.25, adding any pico whatsoever was $.50 per half filled 2oz cup. This place is a disgrace to tex mex. Save your money and eat at taco bell before going here. It will give you more flavor and the same gastric distress for less than half the price.

We love the food and have eaten here several times. Moved from Dallas to Asheboro and were excited to find good Mexican food. Only problem my mother in law asked where do you want to eat for your birthday and of course i said San Felipe. Shes 77 and lives on social security and tipped $5 we always tip $10. Well she got her Credit Card Bill and the restaurant changed the tip to $15 tip. We will not eat here again very dishonest. Shame because we like the food but we do understand tipping and have been a Barber for many years and understand tips. Shes elderly does not get it im sure. Thanks Ed Harris

I ordered a fajita taco salad with grilled chicken. It was delivered and still hot. But it was a soupy, soggy mess. The was an inch of liquid in the bottom of the tortilla shell

This place was nasty. I would not recommend eating here. We was seated and waited forever for our waiter to even greet us then he could bare to stand still to focus on us he was still pausing us for his other table. To top it off me and my fiancé has locks and there was a long thin fine slick piece of hair stuck to my fiance corn and the server told us we don't have women working in the kitchen so we can't tell whose hair it is. Although they had female host walking in and out the kitchen. Bottom line it clearly wasn't our hair and he said well I'll see if I can take it off like we was supposed to pay for hairy food. The manager didn't even come apologize it was never offered would you like us to correct the order nothing he handed us the bill and walked away with nothing more being said. Use caution if you are going to eat here. The food isn't worth the prices.

We ordered door dash yesterday, got our food. First off, the door dash people i thank had the air blasting on our food so it was freezing cold, but the fries, tasted like they were cooked sat, out for a good while, and then recooked they were nasty but I ate them anyway, I was hungry don't judge me, lol, but there was barley cooked bacon on my don filepa cheese steak sandwich like 6 peace of steak on the whole sand witch, this place used to be excellent i don't know what has happened over the years but its def diff. im not saying we aren't ever going to eat here again because that's not realistic but it will be a wile before we go back and i ate my sand witch any way as well i was hungry lol

Favorite Mexican restaurant.. good service and good food. Everyone is very polite.

Pretty good food and ok service. They aren’t fast but not super slow. I would be willing to bet, like most places, they are short staffed. So I try not to hold the speed against them. It seems like they also do a LOT of Door Dash and to go orders which can slow down the guests in house. I often order Door Dash myself due to their location. All in all though this is my go to place for Mexican food in Asheboro. Their meats have more juice and flavor then Burrito Brothers although that is my number 2. Don Julio down the street, actually has even better food but is way over priced and has terrible service.

One of my favorite restaurants. Good service and friendly employees. Always clean and disinfecting frequently used surfaces since covid. I haven't tried everything, but the several entrées tried were excellent, prepared and presented well. Sharing photo of carnitas.
