The old adage to never judge a book by it's cover rings true because despite it's non descript appearance the food was amazing! Even my very picky teenager loved it and she very rarely offers food compliments without being asked. Our waitress (Bennett) was amazing! She was very welcoming and personable and her recommendation of the day's special was spot on. As an added bonus the owner came by to chat and turns out we're from the same state! Needless to say we will definitely be back!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Food was satisfactory- Ruben was well done and fries were fresh. Fish in the fish and chips was a frozen cod- disappointing.Cleanliness of the restaurant was subpar. I sat down to a table and found bacon and potatoes on the floor, and some food item in the seat next to me.I watched the bus boy clear two tables with a rag he pulled out of a bucket and wipe - not wash- down both tables with the same rag - food items went straight to the floor.Staff was courteous and kind. Some sort of uniformity in the dress code would speak volumes for the restaurant.Overall, not a bad place but not a place that leaves me with a desire to return.

This was my first meal at CJ's. I'll try to get back there when I'm in Asheboro. I really enjoyed the Reuben. All four of us enjoyed the food. The server was friendly and attentive. At checkout, we talked with the owner. The cordial atmosphere here comes from the top.

The food was excellent, the service was, well terrible. It all started out well enough, the waitress was personable. After placing our order, she asked if we wanted cheddar biscuits, we said "sure". We had to ask for them when the food came. She had forgotten. The biscuits were bland, could've used a lot of seasoning, as a freebie I'm not rating them. The sandwiches were incredible! I got CJ's Reuben, and my wife got CJ's Club. (I tasted hers). My water ran out, now I'm the type that leaves it in plain view, on the side where everyone can see it, and I had hoped she would notice it.Finally, after we were finished, and she hadn't stopped, I called out to her for the check. She then looked at my glass, and asked if I would like a water "to go". I replied that I wanted one while I was eating. She was, by no means too busy in all the time we were there.I didn't tip. Tip is an acronym for 'To Insure Promptness'.I'm taking off a star for CJ's waitress, who should be working either in the back, or elsewhere.

Lovely restaurant with great service and delicious food. Breakfast all-day menu, southern specialties, salad bar, and daily specials will bring joy to your mouths.

First visit and I had the stew beef tips over rice with 2 sides. Delightful. Beef tips were amazingly tender and green beans were great as well. Took home a cookie, salted caramel, and supper was not necessary after that lunch. Will definitely be back.

It was great yesterday and today we order the beef tip and mine we're fine but my wife and mother in-laws was rare and to the point that it was bloody. So I told our waitress and she told the manager and then offered to cook their food a little longer, the food they had already eaten off of. That was a joke, they offered to remake it but we didn't have time to wait on it, since we had already lost enough time waiting on our food. Did not asked how we wanted it cooked when we ordered. They did not even offer a discount or to take it off our bill. My wife didn't even eat her food because of how undercooked it was. Will not be back!

My wife and I ate breakfast here for the first time. It was great. The food was well cooked, with large portions, and arrived quickly. The service was friendly, and the price was very inexpensive compared to other breakfast places in the area. I can see why this place is always busy. We went on a Thursday morning, and the service was quick. However, I can see CJ's being much busier on a Saturday (so arrive early). We will be back and bring our family next time.

First time visiting with my family was beyond our expectations! Tried the Texas cheeseburger and WOW we were super impressed. The waiter was on top of it and was very attentive. Saw some reviews about the restaurant being old, but what gives as long as it is clean and the food is great! I am happy to support a locally owned business!

Tried this restraunt today and the food and service were great!online ordering was fast and easy..can't wait to try there breakfast.update OK there breakfast is great too.
