If you like food with out any seasoning, this is the place for you. I had also ordered a steak cooked medium and when it was brought out, the middle looked almost raw. I sent it back to be cooked longer and it was still about medium rare when they brought it back out again. I finally just decided I didn’t want it. Our waitress was very nice and so was the rest of the staff that we came in contact with. Would I recommend it though? No.
After seeing the zoo, we decided to stop here for the first time based on the reviews, and we were not at all disappointed. Our server was incredibly cheerful and hilarious, and our drinks never emptied. Our lunch arrived quickly and was amazing. My husband ordered the Philly Cheese Steak with onion rings, while I ordered the June Burger Special. Both were outstanding. Usually, there isn't room for dessert, but we soldiered on and ordered a small version of the Chocolate Volcano, which is a lot for two people. The resulting sugar coma was totally worth it. We had a wonderful dining experience overall, and everything we tasted was outstanding. Without a doubt, we'll return!
The service was average and the atmosphere was casual and sort of hookey. My wife had the Philly Cheesesteak which she said tasted like the steak had been on the grill for a couple of hours and she vomited after leaving the restaurant. I had the fried flounder. It was passable. The fries were very typical of a fast-food restaurant, not crispy. As to the hushpuppies, both my wife and I thought they had a strange off-taste. I liked the coleslaw.
They have great monthly lunch specials. I had a 1/2 pound cheeseburger with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and pickles with a side order of fries and a sweet tea for $7.49. It is a great deal. My husband and son got the grilled chicken breast with the a big bowl of California Vegetable Medley. The one piece breast is $9.99 and the 2 piece is $11.99. You really got a lot of food for the money.
Our first visit and it was great. Food came out fast, fresh and hot. My mom has been a server for over 30 years. I grew up in restaurants. I know a good server when I see one. Our server Brenda was excellent. It's her first night back and you guys are lucky to have her!
Great service. Amy, our server was phenomenal. Good prices were also a bonus! I only couldn’t give a five due to the cut off time for the Friday and Saturday specials as well as the steak seasoning. If I’m in the area again, I would return!
Our first visit was great! There was about a 15-minute wait, but it was well worth it. Very affordable prices. Food portions are well adequate to satisfy your hunger. Friendly staff makes the experience enjoyable.

When you come to or pass through Asheboro, NC be sure to stop at American Roadhouse restaurant. They serve a variety of dishes which includes exotic dishes of frog legs, alligator tail and bison burgers. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat. The owners strive to please and provide fresh quality foods - their homemade potato soup is guaranteed to delight on a cold day.
We went to American Roadhouse for dinner. The food was excellent the servers were great and the price was good as well. We had the chopped steak and baked potato with at salad. Everything was prepared well. Parking was easy, Tip: there is a back road with access to the traffic light. We will be back.
