The staff was friendly and great. The menu was very diverse with many good looking options. Definately one we could keep going back and having something new to try. I loved the Virginia watermelon margarita!! I highly recommend. The only reason for the 3 star instead of a 5 star is most of the food came out cold. Truffle fries and Green Tomato Stacks were cold. Maybe it was a fluke? The Crispy Chicken was super hot, so maybe the timing was wrong and everything sat waiting for the chicken and got cold. I'll give it another try and report back.
The food was not very good. It was just ok. The price was a little high for what we ordered. I had the lobster macaroni and it was not too bad. My husband had the Philly cheese steak and he did not eat it. The meat was cold and the cheese sauce didn’t have much flavor. We will not be visiting this place again and would not recommend. We went on a Sunday and the wait was thirty five minutes for indoor seating and no wait for outdoor. Once we were seated it took our server a while to come get our drink order. We ordered tea with lemon and it came with no lemon. We waited a while before finally our waitress came. We asked for refills and lemon again. When our drinks came they didn’t bring lemon for a second time.
Really neat place! Also, the food is absolutely delicious! The wait wasn't too long for a Saturday at dinner time, either. The waitstaff was not very attentive, which was the only real downside of the experience and we're not tough customers, we just asked for drink refills! On the upside, the Scratch fries appetizer was mind blowing and the fried chicken for the salad and the chicken salad was some of the best we've ever had! We'll definitely be backnas the menu is varied and had some very intriguing choices!
The staff and the dining area are amazing. The outdoor seating in good weather is just so good! The food itself was average at best. My pork skillet hash came *without pork* (the kitchen forgot) with just potatoes in a skillet. The cauliflower appetizer had raw unfried dough on the inside, the pineapple juice in mimosa seemed to be of a really low quality like the dole canned pineapple juice.
The Brussel sprouts are really amazing, the hostess was very hospitable. I give this restaurant 1 ? because I ordered the chicken greens and black-eyed peas my husband ordered loaded fries. First issue, it took over thirty min before our food arrived . However the table behind that had a party of 6 whom arrived after us got there food before we received our food and not to add race into this equation However they where white. My second issue was not only did it take 30 minutes for us to get our dinner, but my chicken and greens were completely over cooked. So I had to place another order, added an additional 20 minutes to my wait time by the time I received my food my husband was done and I had to eat after him. The experience was ruined. When bringing this to the manager on duty, his response blew my mind. He did apologize and said that he fixed our bill (which consisted of him swapping my meals not charging me for my over cooked food ) also stated he made sure he spoke with cooks so no one else would have a bad experience then ended with if there is anything else I could do let him know? I feel like he could of cared less if we returned or if we were satisfied before left. I never in life used race in my review However based on the clientele and based on his passive aggressive behavior, it said a lot about how he felt. So just saying if you're nationally is not of the Caucasian decent, don't have high expectations of you're inconvenienced do to cooks mistakes, oh and 30.00 for some dry mac and cheese with meat is not worth. Or maybe we just came in a off night. Management definitely needs to be retrained on proper customer service etiquette regardless of a person color our background your job is to make sure that all your guest are satisfied before they leave your establishment. It makes me sad because I saw so many good experiences maybe I will try Apex location.
A friend let us know about this place… today finally we have the opportunity. The restaurant is good… the beer I very fresh and nice.. our first plate of entrance was amazing: shrimps and the dale and our half iron chicken was incredible! The courtesy and the customer services has 10 plus… environment very good and the place is pest’s friendly. Definitely I comebacks soon and try to do It you too!
A good thing is always worth waiting for....and this is true of eating here too. We waited a bit (as we expected to) and it was SO worth it! The inside is very cozy and comfortable and the outside seating area looked so cute. The wait to eat out there was longer so we declined, but we're going to try that before it gets too hot.The food was EXCELLENT. The green tomato stacks were absolutely delicious and my Old Fashioned was a perfect compliment to the food. Our server was nice and made sure we were always taken care of. Top notch service.
From drinks to appetizer to dinner everything was fabulous, fast friendly service and flavor galore. Great place for quiet private dinner or for friends to hang out. Will definitely go back there again.
Four Friends for Brunch before going to a local play, met at Scratch. First one ordered Pad Thai and is still raving. The second one had Korean Eggs Benedict, admitting she would order it again. The third Friend had the Siracha Shrimp Grilled Caesar and loved the spicy shrimp flavors. The Fourth Friend has the Country Plate which turned out to be 2 Biscuits with fried egg and gravy coupled with house potatoes. It was a carb overload (maybe fresh fruit would have been a better match).
The restaurant has an upscale rustic feel. The only way to describe the food is southern comfort food with an Asian flair. Old barn wood and brick with creaky wood floors made it very comfortable and inviting. The service was outstanding. The pork belly bites appetizer was incredible. I would go back just for that. The only disappointment was the curry lo mein, which had nothing to do with curry and nothing to do with lo mein. The presentation was sloppy and haphazard, and it tasted greasy. I actually ended up sending it back. They took it off the bill with no hassle. My wife and I just split her meal which was absolutely delicious. The blues mac and cheese was something to write home about. And for dessert, the creme brulee was among the best I have ever had in my life. If friends come into town and want to know about the tastes of our local community, I will take them to this restaurant. I will definitely be back and look forward to tasting other items on their menu.
