I read some of the reviews and feel amazed. The food isn't good although the pizza crust is a style my wife likes. The food isn't cheap. The staff seems young, friendly, and enthusiastic, but after ordering about 10 times from this store I've given up hoping that the order will ever be right or made on time.Either my standards are too high, or for some reason they don't like making my pizza without sausage, but I think there are better Pizza makers in the area. Original New York Pizza on Tryon is a bit of drive from Holly Springs but in my opinion it is far better and they don't have problems getting my order right and ready on time.
Okay, so - the food is good. But the PRICES are crazy and so here's my synopsis.Calzone - it's a decent calzone but it's priced so high that to add 2-3 toppings puts you at something like $19Pizza- good chewy NYC style. Kinda expensive. Probably the best thing they serve is the Pizza. There is a HUGE problem when ordering online however, in that they charge you the same price per topping for a 14" Pizza and an 18" Pizza. Obviously the 14" price should be lower, as not as much product is used. Also, the price per topping is high. Some items are as much as $6ea. Even just to have onions added is $3.50Chicken Strips: Charging $8.50 for 4 chicken strips which are obviously just frozen strips put in a deep fryer.Philly egg rolls- they were decent but not as good as I was expecting. Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood.Penne alla vodka with chicken: OH man. This dish is so overpriced. When given a chicken add on this dish costs over $20 and is just not up to quality. There was hardly any chicken and the sauce was not a real alla vodka sauce - it lacked depth of flavor. This is the biggest disappointment I've had here as far as cost meets quality.*****Here's the kicker that has set me off and made me question existence:******LASANGA: This has been my go to dish. I've ordered it 4 times. At first it was amazing. Great portion size and quality. However, I ordered it a few weeks ago for the 3rd time and noticed that there was basically ZERO filling inside the lasagna. Literally just noodles stacked on top of each other. I decided maybe it was a fluke and ordered it again today. I was excited and hungry and opened up my lasagna only to find that the portion size had been CUT IN HALF and yet they are charging the same price. I order this dish because of the good portion size so to find out they have replaced this with one little strip of lasagna is super disappointing. Also, I go to eat the lasagna and once again there is virtually NOTHING between the slabs of pasta (see picture). This leaves me to believe that in order to cut costs they have decided to make lasagna with no filling and only cheese on the top, and also cut portion size in half. This is not good business practice. At first I was loving Johnny's, but the prices are just too high and quality inconsistent. If you are thinking of ordering I recommend their lovely NYC style crust. Even though the pizza is relatively pricy, it's still the best deal they offer.
I thought the dough was chewy and the sauce was acidic. Not enough cheese. $25 for an 18” pizza wasn’t cutting it for me. I’m a Philly girl who’s been in NC for 20 years now. I’m a big time Milton Pizza fan.
Pizza was great, Italian sub was fantastic, staff was just “okay”. Basically the biggest problem was that the beverage station needed some love. Out of napkins, plastic wear was almost empty and then all of a sudden, after we used it, the soda machine was out of order. Oh and the unsweet tea was never made. This was around noon on Tuesday. One of the kids working there was just drawing in a notebook on the front counter. Other than the beverage station the visit was good. Thanks!
Huge amounts of food! I couldn't get over how hot the take out was even after the drive home, it was still bubbling in the pan! Easy peasy online ordering and nice folks. Our first visit but definitely not our last! You will NOT leave this place hungry! That you won't!
Generally clean place and good tasting pizza. Check your orders as they get it wrong sometimes and it’s also quite pricey compared to other local pizza shops. Great subs and wings too.
One of the best tasting pizza I have had in a very long time.. the NY style pizza is outstanding!! Good job and I’m a new customer!
Best wings around! One oof our favorite places
