My wife and I went here today for the first time. It was recommended to us by a local. We were not disappointed. I had been craving spaghetti for a week and my wife wanted lasagna. We were greeted immediately upstairs n entering. We asked to sit outside and were accommodated. We were seated and given menus immediately. A few minutes later our water and wine showed up. While we checked out the menu we had some pleasant conversation with a gentleman at the next table. Our order was promptly taken by a very pleasant young lady whom we later found out was the owners daughter. Our food arrived shortly after and it was so so good. Portions were generous and we both enjoyed our meals. We hope to go back again.
Quite surprised at the number of positive reviews after our experience there today. It was our first time at Anna’s today and hopefully it was a one-off experience; but we won’t return. The staff was friendly and it was fairly crowded so the service was with appreciable delay. We ordered a 12” build-your-own pizza. For an Italian pizza it was quite weird. They put the topping before the cheese. So try cutting it and yanking off a piece and the top part with veggies embedded in cheese just slides across. And the cheese was really little! What surprised me the most was that there was some other kind of sauce that was quite sour and bitter - kind of like some of the sauces you get for a sandwich. Seems like they were running out of cheese and substituted it with something else. The crust was very uneven. Granted that it was made by hand but at places it was so thin that it was impossible to eat it the regular way. The table was grimy and had Parmesan all over it. So much for hygiene and cleanliness. The pricing is pretty bad imo. The base pizza is 12 bucks but add the toppings and it more than doubled at $1.50 a topping. We’d be better off with Dominos for that price and would get points. They need to tighten things up at this place if this is a regular occurrence. Hope you have better luck!
Tastes good but overpriced & portion is small - they charge 7 bucks for adding Chicken & Mushrooms to a 10$ Alfredo Pasta which is already pricy comparing to other similar places.Based on texture, flavor and speed; majority ingredients not made from scratch so I advise alternatives with a better value, ingredients and as tasty places such the Italian spots in Waverly or Downtown Raleigh
The Anna's pizza in Apex was a major let down in comparison to the one in Fuquay. My office is just a block away from the fuquay store and we order lunch there often. The apparent manager's number one favorite word was "CAN'T". I asked for the pizza & salad special+a 2nd slice of pizza. My total was $12+. I had a $5.00 off coupon. "You CAN'T use the coupon with the special." How much is it without the special? 2 slices and a salad? Total was $12+. What a great special. I showed him the coupon on my phone. Here comes the "CAN'T" again. " This coupon is for the Fuquay restaurant not here" but I'll take it this time." Thanks for the favor. To the owners of Anna's from a former Domino's and Papa John's manager... You should have your Fuquay manager go to Apex and retain their manager. I love Anna's but i still not return to Apex.
Going downhill fast, people on the phone are rude and condescending. Going to Mamma Mia's from now on, at least they show some gratitude towards their customers...
High quality Italian food from Long Island, New York. Nice to find an Italian eatery that uses fresh ingredients. The Chicken Panini i had was tasty and lightly seasoned. The bread was fresh. My wife’s pizza was outstanding. We will return!
As a native of the NJ suburbs of NYC I find it extremely difficult to find a pizza that measures up to what I’m used to back home. Anna’s is not perfect but it comes close! I’ve tried my fair share of pizza here and been underwhelmed but Anna’s is one I’ll repeatedly order from. I also love the small business atmosphere inside because it really reminds me of the feel of pizza shops back home. It is a nice casual place to dine in if you don’t want to carry out. They also have outdoor seating. We’ve even tried their non-pizza menu items and they were all delicious. So I feel like this restaurant deserves a higher rating than what it is showing on Google!
This is probably the best pizza I've ever had. I mean Ray's pizza in Clayton is a VERY close second ... but this meat lover's with extra cheese was slammin' all the way down to the crust! I will drive 30+ miles for this pizza again!
We eat there and have meals delivered on a very regular basis because it’s just that great and you can always depend on it being a Very, Very great meal and experience every single time! It’s a dine-in place that makes you feel at home. I highly recommend Anna’s dine-in or take-out.the quality of the food for the price is on par!Elaine Friedrich-Jenna and Cole’s Mom
If zero stars was an option, that it was Anna's in Downtown Apex would get. I am disappointed in the way we were treated on the evening of July 30, 2021. What should have been an easy fix to a minor error was met with hostility and an embarrassing display of character from the manager. We placed a phone order for 2 pizzas. When we got home we realized one of the pizzas was missing the topping (given a cheese instead of pepperoni). We went back to Anna's to get this resolved. Because the person taking the phone order rang it in as a cheese pizza, the manager didn't want to correct the order. When he finally agreed to put pepperoni on it, he just tossed it on the pizza and gave it back to us. Putting the pizza back in the oven to cook was too much for him. We said that wasn't acceptable, so he grudgingly took the pizza back to cook for 5 min. It wasn't cooked---came back to us the same way....luke warm with uncooked pepperoni. After a 2nd request to cook the pizza--- they decided to make a new one. Half of our meal is at home--now cold--while we wait for them to unnecessarily cook another pizza for us. The pizza we received resembled the attitude we got from the manager---cheese was spewed all over, so significant portions of the pizza were dough and sauce, there were maybe 10 pepperonis on the pizza, and the cutting left us with numerous razor thin slices This was a minor error that simply required this response from that manager - "I'm sorry about that. Let me take care of that now." Take the pizza, put pepperoni on it, COOK it, and give it back. That is not what we got from this establishment. We eat pizza every Friday night, but we will never be back here.
