As far as I’m concerned this is the only place to get a Plate in Rochester! Almost 30 years I’ve been going here… only here!
I grew up in Webster but moved away about 20 years ago. Whenever I'm in the Rochester area I try to stop back in for a plate at this favorite old haunt of mine. Many folks will say there are better plates out there and I'm sure that's true, but this place is a properly preserved piece of adolescent nostalgia and is still proper comfort food (and I imagine still proper drunk food, though I'm a bit old for that routine now). I ordered garbage plates for dinner last night. They were the worst ever had. The mac salad was runny didnt even taste like what it should. The meat sauce was just that meat sauce no flavor or spice. What a waste of money, threw away and very disappointed wont be going back to Empire Hots again!!!
was having a terrible day and stopped for a plate but my apple pay wouldn’t register on their device (not their fault). i decided to void the order and went to leave but they ensured i still left with a plate and a smile. it’s clear customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance. my favorite plate place in webster, and i feel even better about going there knowing the employees are genuinely nice people too
Was not happy with my garbage plate. Food doesn't taste the same. Seems like they have a new cook. Mac salad. Even taste different!!!??
I used to go to this place all the time when I was growing up in webster. It was definitely the place to go for late night eats. It's very disappointing to see that it's only open until 10:00 p.m. now. They need to stay open late for when after the bar is closed. But the food is just as good as it's always been. Got a garbage plate and it's easily the best in town, dare I say the best in Rochester! Don't tell anybody, but I think it's better than Nick Tahous.
We normally love Empire Hots and have had great food from here. I went to order on website and it suggested downloading the app. You can get 20% for five orders!! Well..that didn't work at all! Then I added comments to adjust the plates they way we do. That was fine. However they forgot the side of meat sauce for 1 plate and forgot to add the meat sause on the actual plate that wanted it on there. That was disappointing. Never had service this way before from them. Even the receipt has all the comments and the plate orders as they should be. Very sad.Will think again before ordering online or app again.
One of my go to joints for a garbage plate. I used to come here alot as a teen but still solid food and friendly workers.
Ordered wings with blue cheese. Didn't receive the cheese and more than half of the wings were burnt and tiny compared to the others. Couldn't even eat them. Wings are getting way too expensive to receive this..
Great service tonight, ordered a lot of special orders and they rolled with it quickly, everything was correct and delicious.
