Unless you’re 100% pure Asian, do not go here. The owner/ waiter is extremely rude and racist. My sister speaks Korean and he didn’t realize this and made the most racist remarks. He also yelled at us for ordering too many appetizers, even though we ordered entrees as well. Literally lectured us the entire time. I legit just left $100 and walked out because I didn’t want to be accused of dining and dashing and just wanted the experience to be over. Worst dining experience ever.
My fiancé and I always drive by this restaurant and we finally decided to dine in! We regret not eating here sooner! Though it was not crowded, it took awhile for us to be seated, but we waited patiently for the person to escort us to our table - manners is key.If you’re not used to a small mom-and-pop kind of restaurant, then eating here will be a strange experience - but in a good way.The owner who took our order was pleasantly nice. I was a tad nervous due to the negative reviews here. He was polite with his deep loud voice, may sound scary to those who are not used to it, but he means well. The food was delicious! We didn’t expect the scallion pancake to be massive!Con: at the time, they were only accepting cash. So, come prepared. We didn’t know, so we had to find an ATM around.Overall, we will definitely visit again!
My husband and 10 month old have been here twice. The food is absolutely fenomenal!! 5 out of 5 for the food. I have had something different each time and have yet to be disappointed. The portions are also perfect. I always have enough for leftovers the next day. Absolutely a hidden ?!The service is a bit rough around the edges. There is only one server, and he seems to always be angry (I guess I would be too if I was the only server). The hours are very limited as well as seating. They've had to turn large parties away.
Anyong-haseo. Every dish I've tried at Man Nam reminds me of the 3 tours I served in the ROK. Although smaller than Jong Kak (formerly No Dagi) in Baltimore, the quality of the food that Mrs. Kim prepares rivals that establishment. Mr. Kim provides the character that supports an authentic Korean dining experience. He does have a great sense of humor that may sometimes confuse the younger generation BUT he is quite typical of elder Korean men. He has always been friendly, respectful and shown good humor when my friends have accompanied me there. My only complaint is that San Nachi (live octopus) and Mongei (live sea urchin) are not on the menu. ;-)
Owner was not very respectful. $13 for a very small bowl of fried rice and we can’t even share. The atmosphere in the restaurant is tense and just doesn’t feel much like a restaurant at all. Got yelled at for sharing and asking how big the fried rice is.
Absolutely the best Korean food I have had in a long time. Will be returning regularly for the Bi Bim Bap. Everyone in my group found everything to be delicious. The man who waited on us was very kind and helpful. I see some reviews saying otherwise, all I can say is that some people expect to be treated with dignity and respect, and they should be. It's not a lot to ask for, especially for such a delicious meal.
Love Korean food! My Seafood pancake was burned and I told the waiter about it. The owner came out and yelled at me. He said he was not the Iron Chef. We left and will not go back. I refuse to patronize someone like that! I will not be yelled at and put money in his pocket.
terrible experience. my friends and i entered the restaurant at 5 PM and we had to ring the bell twice and say excuse me for anyone to even greet us. we did not notice the sign on the door that stated no outside food or drinks. we were holding boba cups that the owner saw when he greeted us and seated us with menus. however, when he came out of the kitchen to take our order he started belligerently screaming at us to get out because of their no outside drink policy. instead of asking us to throw out the drinks he continued to yell “OUT, OUT” and became more and more aggressive even as we were getting ready to leave. his restaurant was empty and he just turned away paying customers. this is no way to treat customers and it is no wonder that no one else was there.
November 5th 2021, my friend and I went to thisrestaurant with height expectations. There was a group of people came in, then the male waiter or the owner asked me and my friend to leave so that they will have table for them; we left. February 17th, 2022, one of my friend doesn't know how bad this restaurant is so she went there, and all she did was ask for another free kimchi and the male waiter told her that" you eat too much.”I'm just wondering is Korean people all this rude? Or is just this owner treat customers like we own his money?
Owner was incredibly rude the moment we walked in the door. He was very obstinate and refused to hold out any ingredients even though we were allergic. We took our business down the road to Kamai who offered excellent service and food.
