Went with three others for dinner. Waitress came over to take our order. At the time it was our group of 4 and a table of 8 in the restaurant Two of us ordered chicken riggies and two ordered chicken Parm. We also ordered Utica greens for our appetizer. The food was fantastic with the stuffed long hots that came with the chicken Parm special was the best. The only issue we had was the wait time. From start to finish, 3 1/2 + hours with long wait times between appetizer, salad and main meal. Wait times and prices would probably keep us from going back on a regular basis. The long span between appetizer, salad and main meal and getting our check took away from the excellent taste of the food. Great place if you have three to four hours to spend for dinner.
I'm reviewing this establishment as a former employee & you could say customer since I Aldo enjoyed a meal courtesy of Rich & Cheryl; Owners. I spent alot of late nites in this kitchen contributing to what came to be successful bridal showers, weddings, occasional live music acts as well as ringing in the New Year's Holiday. I can honestly say I've never came across a chef like Richard and I've worked in numerous restaurants all over CNY - Capital Region, keep in mind he, his wife Cheryl & their two grown up children not only own the "what is?" That makes up Trackside Restaurant & Banquets, they devote their days to running the establishment as well along with a handful of dedicated employees. But what I'm trying to get at is, most places••I've encountered, you wouldn't dare catch the owner getting their hands dirty , and definitely not taking the garbage out. If it was a really busy weekend night that was doubled with a wedding reception for 120 ppl, naturally all sides "Of the House" would be slammed. Thus guy would jump rite in the "Dish Pit" so to speak and just do what needed to be done and not cry or whine about it. If a skillet seared Salmon or Bacon Wrapped Filet somehow came out wrong or customer was dissatisfied, Rich would rather throw it away and make a whole new fresh one just to make sure it was proper and they were happy with it. Now I can tell you something, many restaurants would not toss a $30 entree in the trash to just make another, matter of fact I've witnessed meals hit the floor and be pickup and repositioned on the platter with a garnish then "ring, ding" orders up! I sh** you not. Well you don't find that Trackside Restaurant & Banquet's, not with the amount of energy and heart they pour into it. So support local business and your appetite for a delicious meal, give em a call today;Dinner Thursday -sat;Lunch Monday - Friday
The Mother’s Day brunch was awesome! We were very happy with everything. Great selection of food and desserts. Everything was hot and delicious. The service was great as well.
Food was phenomenal and service was outstanding.
Very nice atmosphere inside the historical train station in Downtown Utica.
Wonderful food and great service as always.
Excellent service, great food and a great dining experience. Wines are good and for Utica, NY, it matches 5-star dining that you would fine in New York City.
AMAZING! Amazing wait staff and the food is to die for. No joke. I recommend this place to everyone that will listen.
Maybe we just caught the place on a busy lunch service. The entrance was very posh from the outside, but as you enter the building you are confronted with test rest rooms and a kitchen entrance. You must find your way around the corner to an area that looks like it may have been a bar area, but now is just acting like a lobby for pick ups? Anyway, it wasn't immediately obvious if you were supposed to wait to be seated or to simply sit at a table. Finally a waitress noticed us and said she "would be right back". Seemed like more than a few minutes when she popped back out of the kitchen to say to "sit anywhere". Another few minutes goes by and she asks what we would like to drink. No menus yet. We order two beers and they were forthcoming, but just the bottles. No glasses and no asking if we wanted glasses. Menus arrived. Now, this is now about 1 pm on a Tuesday. We noticed a few large tables maybe 6-8 people at each and another rather large party in another room. A few other tables of 2 and 3 people. We put in our order and waited. Ordered another beer as we were still waiting for our food. There were two waitresses and by the looks of it some kitchen staff helping out. It was probably a good 45 minutes before our burgers were served. They were delicious! Not a fan of the potato chips that were served as a side, and while we looked for fries on the menu, it didn't appear they were an option. But we saw some come out on another tables order. We'll give this place another go maybe after the holidays just to see if we just hit it wrong. But if we have to wait that long again, we probably won't be back. This is by no means a place that you could come on your lunch hour and expect to be back at work on time.
Just had my daughter's baby shower at Trackside, they could not have been more accommodating. The service was excellent, the food phenomenal and they let us decorate as much as we wanted. They boxed up the left over food and cake. Amber was the best, I can't say enough about her. Definitely would recommend this place for a party. Everything went as hoped, thanks to their professional and top notch service. Thank you again Trackside!
