We visited for breakfast. The lady at the till overcharged us by nearly £7 and was very abrupt about it when i gently questioned her and tried explaining that i think she may have made a small error. She just didnt want to hear it - gave me an itemised bill and told me she will come over if im still unsatisfied. I felt really uncomfortable and made to look quite silly. I recalculated the prices and was quite certain she had not applied the 50% off to a few of the items. Only when i got hold of a waitress and gently explained to her sbe listened and went back and confirmed it was their mistake and returned some money. However by then I was really embarrassed and made to feel like I was making a fuss out of nothing by the first lady. She didnt want to acknowledge that she may have made a mistake. Worst thing was there was no apology and when i walked past the till to go home the waitress who originally served me didnt even look up to smile - looked pure angry that she had been pulled up on her mistake. The tea my husband didnt enjoy , hot chocolate was nice. Full breakfast was half eaten evn though every one was very hungry and chicken wraps had more leafy lettuce in than any filling. Presentation however was lovely
Visited with friends.. Nice breakfast, full english was filling, decent tea and coffee, did take them a while to prepare our breakfast there was four of us.
Not only have they got rid of the paintings on the walls (it looks super bland inside now), they also increased the price of the full english breakfast from £7.50 (w/ Tea) to £8.50 without Tea. Along with that, if you’re not into the mushrooms included, you can’t swap them for anything else. The fact this place is rated 4/5 is ridiculous. Never coming back.
Lovely staff serving a lovely full English breakfast! We bought 2 drinks and couldn’t tell the difference due to it being our first time, we didn’t see this as a bad thing as both were really nice. I will be back for more ? Thank you
I work nearby this is the best coffee I have tasted locally. The food is tasty and the service is fast and courteous. Highly recommend

I went into Character Coffee with my 3 kids and ordered a Pumpkin Latte. It was so amazing. The owner is the SWEETEST and I love the aesthetic of the place. It is a hidden GEM on Genesee St. , especially for a NEW family in town and one hangry mama who just wanted a coffee + break!
I ordered a large honey lavender latte. OmG it was amazing.. super cute place.
