We always like to try something new every time we have dinner here and it never disappoints. The menu is huge and the staff is super friendly. If you’re looking for authentic Asian cuisine, you are in the right place. ❤️
spent a fortune at this place and they dont want to deliver- no more! Over 60.00 on every order. ordered here often.
The food was very good! some communication issues but all in all we will go back again!
Great food. Nice dining experience.
Great Place! Have to admit, my first time here and I was impressed. Very authentic with a Classic Szechuan selection. We were not great at understanding our waitress; she was kind enough to send over someone who spoke English very well. We ordered hot sake (not on the menu-just ask for it $7) and hot jasmine latte, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings -4 for $6 (these were small but tasty-not enough to share) Vegetable Dumpling -8 for $7, very good, enough to share, Chengdu Style Shrimp $23, had a good spicy hot taste-and I love spicy food. I asked to make it a little more spicy-whether they did or not, it was perfect-portion could be shared; Quick Fried Shredded Lamb $22, although asked to make less spicy-was still too much heat for my mom, I tasted it, and it seemed fine, though.. The entrees under the Classic Szechuan selection, I think can be shared. - but then you lose out on leftovers! Waitstaff was pleasant, food arrived timely and hot. If you are really daring and want to try something I believe you will never see elsewhere in Syracuse - go to the Red Chili. You can check out their menu online. It’s not much to look at from the outside and rather plain on the inside; but if it’s the food you really want most, don’t pass this place up!
My first visit to Red Chili was average. When we arrived, we were seated fairly quickly. The employees were kind, and we didn’t have to wait too long to order our food.We ordered xiao long bao, beef garlic sauce style, and tofu spicy crispy style. The beef came out first, then the bao, then the tofu. The garlic sauce style beef was cooked with onions and scallions, and it tasted like any typical beef dish you can get at a casual Chinese takeout restaurant. There was nothing really special about this dish. The xiao long baos were bite sized and very tasty. The tofu was very crispy which I enjoyed a lot! The spice level was perfect and there was good flavor in the oil. However, the food was pretty pricey for the portion sizes. You can get the beef dish anywhere for a cheaper price. The tofu entree did not come with any vegetables. It’s just tofu, chili peppers, and chili oil. You would expect more for an entree that costs almost $20. I wish I had more flavor not from the chili oil, but from a variety of vegetables.
The first and only real Asian place in Syracuse that I have tried. Being from Southern California, I am spoiled when it comes to food. Though this place was mighty tasty. I enjoyed it. Make sure you ask for mild if you can't handle spicy.
Coming from Italian immigrants, (meaning that I am not Chinese) my personal experience is that Red Chilis is the BEST Chinese food around, and the only place I will go to for Chinese food. The other tell tale sign of a good Chinese restaurant is all the Asian people I see at this restaurant. The wait staff is very helpful in explaining some of the delicious foods on the menu. It’s a very nice and clean restaurant. I visit there a couple times a month. And if I could give it more than 5 stars I would at least double it!
I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad meal here. Even returning after a few years of being out of state the food is still delicious. They’ve got small to large tables so I’ve never had issues going with a small or larger group.Between more generic Chinese takeout most are familiar with to more authentic dishes, as well as hot pot and dim sum, they have something for everyone who is even remotely interested in Chinese food. You can play it safe or find something new to enjoy. The staff is always nice and accommodating and the restaurant is clean.
First time at Red Chili tonight - cannot wait to go back! Delicious, authentic, fun dinner in relaxed atmosphere. Restaurant was busy but waitresses were attentive and pleasant.
