A great spot, however the coffee can be inconsistent sometimes. Sometimes my latte prices are different even though I order the same thing. I suggest being specific about the amount of syrup you want to prevent overly sweet drinks also, I tend to get 2 flavors and if I don't specify the coffee is grossly sweet. I enjoy the location and the interior. Be prepared to spend money, two items can reach 20 dollars by adding substitutes like almond milk. The staff is great and friendly and will help you with any questions you have.

First time trying recess coffee and our drinks were amazing! We both ordered our go to coffees - mocha lattes. Honestly I think it was one of the best mochas I’ve ever had. Coffee was smooth, strong and packed a lot of flavor without being overbearing. Perfect amount of mocha and whole milk.Interior was very clean and stylish with plenty of seating. And last, the staff were very polite. Will definitely come back!

Delicious coffee as always! All of the Recess locations are suburb and consistent.

I used to love Recess coffee shop, but it has gone downhill and the past few visits I’ve had issues. I just paid $12 for two coffees, and before I ordered I asked if they were really sweet and they said no. Both mine and my boyfriends drinks were sickly sweet and over syrupy coffee. My boyfriend asked the barista if I could do something to make it taste less sweet, and they charged him another $3 to add more espresso to try and make it less sweet or balance it out. It still didn’t taste right, and I’ve invested $15 into a disappointing coffee. Really frustrating since I used to trust recess knew how to make a good latte without having to customize and tell them to add less syrup. Probably won’t be returning anytime soon.

Nice little local coffee shop with their own roasted coffees. Very well crafted espresso drinks. Its location inside a larger building on a narrow one way street makes it feel like you are discovering a local secret, and you are. The location is pretty convenient to I-81 too making it a great stop for a well balanced brew and locally crafted bakery treats when traveling through Syracuse.

Ordered 4-5 things online, said it would talk about 20 minutes ended up taking 30+ minutes with no warning. Most of food was room temp or cold, when i ordered hot/warm sandwiches. Food tasted like something id get at a Walmart supermarket at 11pm. Coffee tasted ok, didnt see an option online to list how much milk, sweetener, etc i wanted in my drink. But at least it was super trendy and clean looking shop and the person who brought me my food was polite.

Great staff, great coffee, great music, and very well taken care of space.

Good coffee with good non-dairy alternatives!

Had a coffee and vegan breakfast. I drink decafe and they grind all there beans fresh, which is important to me. The coffee was excellent. I had a vegetable and seitan sandwich on hearty wheat bread and a complementary piece of fresh fruit. It was all top quality and the service was fantastic. They have tables inside and outside and the atmosphere in and out was pleasant. The owners run the place and their attention to detail is refreshing. Definitely a top choice for me in the Syracuse area.

Great Coffee! I'm always looking for local coffee shops when I travel and I found Recess Coffee near the hotel I was staying at. I got the dark roast of the day which had a very good taste. I also got a bagel as well, which was recommended by several reviews and did not disappoint.
