Great eclectic spot for coffee and breakfast! Friendly staff & quirky decor made this a most enjoyable visit. So good, we went back the next morn for a do over!
Great spot, decent coffee, but getting an espresso drink takes ages. No matter how many people are working, or how many people are in line, they seem to only ever have one person using the espresso machine. And after 3 days in a row coming here, I can safely say that none of the people working the espresso machine are ever interested in working efficiently. Today I waited almost 10 minutes for a drink, and in that time they made only 2 drinks. I've never been to a coffee shop that's so consistently slow.
I recently went to Recess Coffee with my daughter who goes there regularly. The staff is so nice and there is a large assortment of drinks and food on the menu. The building is clean and has ample seating inside and out for the large number of people who obviously love this place. Such a great vibe. Will be back again!
We made our first visit in the evening and it was impressive just how busy it was.After we received our coffee, we were not surprised at the amount of customers. The coffee was full flavoured without being bitter.The personnel we interacted with were friendly and patient to answer questions about their product.We were glad we stopped here.
Wow! What a terrible experience when the barista refused to make my espresso drink with the dark caramel sauce she claimed she could only use that for a certain drink but I think it was personal based on the fact no other barista working there ever refused me the dark caramel sauce. I think I deserve to have my drink prepared the way I like considering my bf and I paid $37 for two espresso drinks and 2 breakfast sandwiches. Will be taking my money and tipping heavily elsewhere from now on!
I got an iced latte and brought it home. I left it unattended on the counter for a minute and my cat decided it would be so fun to knock onto the floor. When I came back in it was top down on the ground and barely any of the drink had spilled when I managed to turn it back over. 10/10 best cold cup lids for accident prone people. Also a delicious latte.
I had so much fun here, liked the cold brew coffee and the plain bagel was to DIE for, 100% recommend going especially with friends
Good coffee and nice atmosphere. Staff has always been friendly. Good place to stop after you have a Artemis w/ curly fries from Dorians around the corner.
I used to love Recess coffee shop, but it has gone downhill and the past few visits I’ve had issues. I just paid $12 for two coffees, and before I ordered I asked if they were really sweet and they said no. Both mine and my boyfriends drinks were sickly sweet and over syrupy coffee. My boyfriend asked the barista if I could do something to make it taste less sweet, and they charged him another $3 to add more espresso to try and make it less sweet or balance it out. It still didn’t taste right, and I’ve invested $15 into a disappointing coffee. Really frustrating since I used to trust recess knew how to make a good latte without having to customize and tell them to add less syrup. Probably won’t be returning anytime soon.
