Ordered scrambled eggs with potatoes w/onions. Eggs were ok, potatoes didn't have any onions and very little taste. Toast was cold with no butter on it. Disappointed!
Terrific place for breakfast and fish fry! Vegetable omelette was the best ever and huge! Fish I was so fresh and almost jumped off the plate, delicious!! And unbelievable prices! Service was amazing we had our food in a flash and every one that walked by asked if everything was OK ,do we need more coffee ,what can we get you ...just amazing. Will stop by every chance we get!
My boyfriend and I brought our daughter there for the first time, she had never been. She loved her breakfast!! Food was amazing and staff was super nice (as always!) ☺
We sat at the bar and chatted with the staff while we ate. They were all very friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We ordered omelettes and thought they were good. We only wish the home fries were smaller and more crispy. It's a small place so there's often a wait, and they're cash only. Come prepared, but it's worth it.
So surprising to see any negative views! Classic, phenomenal diner food with a local spirit. Highly recommend the corned beef hash & the Monte Cristo. We sat next to an old woman who has been coming here daily for years (even eating take out in the parking lot during the pandemic). It’s a small place so you can actually watch them cook behind the bar. The wait is well worth it.
Came here for breakfast on the recommendation of a friend and so glad we did. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was AMAZING! We were full for the rest of the day, and the price can’t be beat.

I was very excited to try this place, I am honestly surprised with the review I am giving it. We were not expecting cash only, not a big deal, had to go get cash. The long wait to be seated in a very small booth, again we knew it was a small place so not really too big of a deal. But the service wasn't amazing, they were a bit all over and we had to request a few things more than once. That could be due to the constant flow of people, but I did expect better service. What I really expected was a better quality of food, this place has some amazing reviews which talk it up, but my food wasn't nearly that amazing. I really wanted to be wowed by this place but even going to the bathroom was awkward, a walk down a wobbly set of stairs to an extremely small bathroom. The only real plus side was the quantity of food for the price. So, if you are looking for a large amount of food that is just okay and doesn't cost too much, this place will work.
Small, friendly diner! Normal menu, average prices. Got the special, banana nilla waffle, amazing!
I’ve been meaning to try Mother’s Cupboard for a long time and only recently was able to get around to it. I have to say it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the Syracuse area, with the frittata omelette I ordered being absolutely massive and delicious. I can usually finish an omelette no problem but this one was bigger than most! The coffee was great as well as the service. This is one of the better breakfast spots in the area in my opinion, and I’ve tried many of them.
