One can walk to breakfast from the farmers market. However, there is easy access parking & easy to get seated, quick and friendly service, decent variety of menu choices. Note, it is open most days of the week for breakfast and lunch. Value of meal is good.
I don't like to leave bad reviews, however today was a disappointment...i brought a friend here for her birthday and granted it was 1pm on a Sunday so the restaurant was extremely busy...we were seated promptly and the service was good ...we were warned that food was taking up to 30 mins and we did not mind the wait...however, the food did not taste good at all! The eggs were not cooked thoroughly and both my eggs and sausage was cold! The home fries were good and warm but for the amount of time we waited patiently...the food should have been cooked better and hot!? I would have addressed this with our server however they never checked back with us to see how everything was. I also noticed one of the line workers putting a piece of food in his mouth while cooking! Probably will never be back.
This diner is a hidden gem of the city of Syracuse, hidden in plain sight near the entrance to the mall.Breakfast was awesome staff friendly and quick with the food. My coffee cup never went empty. I had the biscuits and gravey the biscuits were made from scratch very good.
Had brunch here today with a friend amd my daughter. Food took a litte while because it was busy. Once the food finally came it was cold! They definitely should make sure the food is piping hot before serving. I had the sausage gravy with biscuits and eating it cold reminded me of vomit ? . The sausage links clearly were laying around and precooked because they were cold. Needless to say I didn't eat much and ended up serving it to my dogs. Won't be back.
It was okay. The food was good. The restaurant seemed not so clean but not terrible. The staff were super friendly and the prices were good. There is a sign on the door saying masks are required but a lot of staff, including those preparing food, were not wearing masks. Also, from where I was sitting I could see into the kitchen and a lot of staff were coming and going from the kitchen and I could see that when they got in the kitchen they took thier masks off and put them back on before they came back out. One staff person was preparing meals for delivery and her mask was off until she came back from around the prep area. I have pics of many staff without masks but am not including them because I don't want to get anyone in trouble but If that's important to you, or if you or someone in your home is old or has asthma or anything, I'd be careful. We're all healthy and don't have anyone in our homes who is undergoing chemo or anything so we didn't sweat it but probably won't be going back. Good experience other than that.
Never a bad meal at this dinner. This place is an institution, and you'll find a varied selection of meals on the menu. There are specials daily. I recommend the corned beef and cabbage, and the stroganoff, when available.
They're not enforcing the mask mandate. When I asked about it she said they were enforcing it with staff but not customers. Although the kitchen staff was not all wearing masks and my waitresses mask was barely covering her mouth. An elderly couple came in without masks and he coughed the whole time he was there. Obviously staff knew them but nothing was done. I left soon after they came in. They were so careful when they first reopened after being closed for covid. The entire restaurant was open, not just the front half. Every other table was taken out. People were spaced out. Now everything is back to precovid. It doesn't feel safe or comfortable to eat there anymore.
Always great food and good service but today the foid was exceptional...steak and eggs, grits and italian toast. Super kid friendly environment and they had crayons and a holiday coloring book for my grandson. Coffee was hot and strong and just kept coming....do yourself a favor and stop here for a quick bite or a huge homestyle supper.
Extremely pleasant servers, breakfast came fast and reasonably priced. Hearty breakfast, I had the Italiano which was great. Wasn't a fan of their grits though..bland, runny. Great stop on your way to Destiny Mall. Would definitely stop again.
We were looking for a place to eat before a concert and the mall across the way had long wait times, we crossed the highway towards the stadium and found this blast from the past. Had some 60's style diner vibe esp the nicely painted walls with some old time celebs on it. My girlfriend started with a Chicken Caesar Wrap with grilled chicken breast, lettuce, romano cheese and caesar dressing and french fries. She liked the wrap which was very filling and the fries were nice and crispy. I went for the Fried Seafood Platter Haddock, shrimp, scallops and calamari. Lightly fried in 100% vegetable oil and a clam crowder soup for my side. The haddock and calamari was just OK though the shrimp and scallops were good. The soup was a nice addition. I enjoyed eating here but not if enough to go back
